Better way to display photos?

Looking for recommendations. I've got a decent digital SLR for photos that I've even set up with a custom white balance for HPS that shoots 3888x2592 images. I've also got a USB microscope that can grab 1600x1200 stills. All of which get's hosed when I attach to a post. Now either images is down to maximum of 800 pixels long and detail is lost.

I was thinking of setting up an account with one of the photo sharing services like Flickr or photobucket. Preferably one that let's me display a thumbnail.

1. For privacy reasons, do people not click on images period?
2. Would you not want images coming from other site?
3. Do larger images even matter or is 800 pixels for largest dimension good enough?
4. Finally, is there a photo sharing service you recommend?

I asked over in the support area if this could be made 1,200 or 1,600 but never heard anything.

It may be just me. I just upgraded my home machine to dual 2560x1440 monitors which makes an 800x600 image on the small side.

#1) I click on any that look interesting - spam popups dont bother me as I'm running noscript, never see `em.
#2) Photobucket and other image hosting sites are fine, preferably not with popups as some don't run blockers or script managers and popup floods are a good way to get screamed at.
#3) 800x600 is ok, if you go any bigger.. you'll notice that pages full of high resolution images can lag the forums as you cycle pages rapidly assuming you're not properly managing browser cache
#4) Photobucket, or imageshack - both produce both galleries, and links, as well as thumbnail pics.. and no random popups/spam - Photobucket also has a mobile service, should you wish to shoot pics from your phone, upload from your phone, and manage that way.. as well as link from there to the forum depending on the phone you have.

General precaution: Some of the mid-range/higher-end cameras also have GPS capabilities.. make sure that all functionality related to this is disabled, and if you're truly worried about the features still keeping residual info even with it disabled - by all means run the photos through an EXIF scrubber pre-upload. Hope this helps a bit.

Going to do a little test here

PhotoBucket (2GB free storage), Can't see a way to show thumbnails.

ImageShack (5GB free storage). Max file size of 5mb which means I may have to trim the file a little. I'm also having it resize to a max of 1600 pixels in any one direction.

No porn when I clicked... the links are to imageshack.us

You probably have malware on your computer from watching porn with IE or signing up for a free xbox or some shit.

Nope, not yours.. I took the script blocker off and Hablamos' are doing it.

I appoligize if I offended the wrong person. I meant my post to say HABLAMOS is a major fuckwad. This is why I usually REFUSE to click on a link to go to another site to view pics . I broke my "own rule" . Post pics here using " go advanced " and post thumbnails . When people click on them , they should come up bigger.

That's why I deleted your offensive post. I don't get the porn that you are talking about, I get a giant image of the picture he posted.

@ rollitup , click on yhe image from HABLAMOS and see what happens. Then please put my post back.

I've decided to go with ImageShack and upload my images with a max dimension of 1600.
More storage and not only that but I can also get thumbnails that link to original image. Even better, five different sizes of thumbnail to choose from.
