I've used the soil testers that you put in the test tube & shake. I've used the metal stake device that is just plain cheapo.

What is the best and easiest way to test pH of water? Of soil?

metal stake device is fine

dont mistake cheap for shitty

those red hannah PH testers are like 50 bucks and suck dick.

I used those probes before they seemed to suck my left nut..
I recently started using oakton meters A+ so far.
used HM digital for a couple years..and fuck that..ugh i will never go back

The best and cheapest is to use the paper and tube test kit. Most reliable and dirt cheap.
In theory, how many times are you going to actually do a ph test? Unless of course you have shitty water, then it makes sense to invest in a good electronic tester.

lol ph test everyday... hydro systems must maintain a constant ph level. i like to keep mine at 5.8..nutes make the water fluctuate..and even hand watering..the nutrients make the ph of the water change...so if you water ever two or three days..youre checking your ph..?

are you sure about your statement

u test PH everytime u water unless u only need to test the PH of your tap water but even that changes sometimes

if you are using a good quality potting soil mix i wouldn't worry about the ph. my soil plants gets whatever comes out of the tap. for my hydro i have a blue labs that i picked up used at an aquarium shop.
