Best way to store seeds?

Hi there,

I plan on buying a few seeds now but will only will germinate them in a months time, what would be the best way to store them?

Thanks a lot!

Original packaging . Keep them cool and dry should be fine. Dry pot or jar of some kind im guessing
That's what i was thinking and just put them in my cupboard as it's a nice cool and dry place. People also say put in a fridge but don't really want to risk it because of the fridge light.

Thanks!

I store mine in small amber essential oil vials and then in a hard sided case made for the vials, in the fridge. The vials and storage case can be had on amazon pretty cheaply. I can understand how collectors prefer to keep them in the original packaging, but I could care less about the packaging and the vials greatly reduce the needed storage space.

Edit** Just reread the OP, if your only storing for the short term, original packaging in the fridge should be just fine.

It may be wise if you buy some rare or hard to get, to leave in the packaging. Strictly speaking from an investment point of view. If you suddenly need to raise a lot of cash. These things can fetch big cash

I get what your saying, the seed game is kinda funny. I could have a pack of "Super Frosting Berry Skunk Piss" and out of the packaging no one would take my word for it. But I could take those same seeds and do a open pollination run and sell F2's in new packs all day long. Doesn't make a ton of sense, but it is what it is.

What is the best place to auction or sell beans?

Thanks for all the help guys! I'll probably just leave them in their packaging and put somewhere dry and cool as will only need to stay there for around 20 days but i really appreciate all the help!

Just wondering...have you stored long term in the fridge with good results? I'm thinking like a year at most

The seeds only care about warmth and moisture
Not light
My seed collection from the 90's to date resides in a rubbermaid container in the bottom of the fridge
Seeds are like the day I got them
I always refrigerate new arrivals before popping them too
Simulated winter
