Best way to maximize yield? w/ pics

what should be done to maximize the yield off these plants? they are at one week flowering, with a 2 ft 4 bulb T5HO on them 12/12. they are all about 16-18 inches tall, and they are running out of space. what can be done for this crop, and what should happen the next go around from the beginning?

Also, Im having a hard time determining the sex. right beside the bud node, there are little bitty spots, like a ver tiny ball or dot, but only one. not like a sac or anything. is this male or will the female pistil come out of that spot?

number one looks fem to me. i have this same question really. i have only one grow and the males had balls for sure. so i just pulled all the plants as soon as i saw balls and everything was ok. but as far as telling early on, i am a bit confused as well.

Typically, it is best to do some training (lst) during the veg cycle to maximize the number of bud sites that you wil have. Like apocalyptic said, do plenty of research prior to your next grow. Read some threads on low stress training, fimming, topping, sog, scrog, then decide which method you would like to try for your next grow, or combination of techniques. Trial and error is what most growers go through, seeing what works, and what does not. Read, read, and then read some more... Happy Grwoing! :)

Use a bud enhancer along with more energy input....ie more lumins....lst or top your next ones to control stretch....

More light, more air, more soil .... being in soil I would meter my run off after
watering to see what my PPM and PH is before I add any nutes or enhancers.
I would also transplant into larger pots if you can. Be this is a lil late in the
game to be trying to change things...

Scrog is good but much too late to try it. You'll stress her and possibly hermie.
With your lighting I would read up on scrog for sure. HPS would be great but
keep it 2 feet away for a couple of days then bring it closer to your plant. But
agian ...... a lil late to see the full potential.

Good Luck
