here we go again, with the recent price hike in decent smoke ,and the shit thats getting sold out there also the fact that its possible again ive decided to take up my favourite hobby again.last time round i used fairly simple techniques ,pots miracle gro compost and perlite mixed and just fed my little girls every other time with tomorite, pretty basic and straight forward i know but i enjoyed reasonable success from my little garden under a 250w hps used from start to finish, this time am planning using the 400w switching between mh and hps as there is a bit more room available this time round:mrgreen:has any one got any preferences to which food to give them to boost the yield a little,i was thinking about iguana juice bloom as it seem to look and read up ok,also planning about 6 under the 400w that should be plenty, all advice welcomed:lol:

Check out the link in my sig! It's the CHEAPEST and EASIEST way to go. You mix everything into the soil and forgo the bottle nutes, going from start to finish with water only!

Better yet, just hit the organic section lol!

i heard pooping in the plants works well, right sincerly?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

seriously though, nutrients are over rated......most decent potting soils have enough in them to go start to finish with minimal nutrients added.

i use espoma garden tone, happy frog potting soil and some lime.....plenty of food there to last, maybe mix in some earthworm castings and brew up a couple tea's throughout the grow amending the tea's with some guano, high P for flower high N guano for veg...basic stuff man. people round here talk like you cant grow a fking pot plant without 80 bucks in top end nutrients but that my friend is far from the truth. ammend a decent soil to start with and you dont need any nutrients.

i agree ,some people think that you have to be some sort of chemist/scientist to grow but i like keeping things easy,i think to much nutes gives a harsh smoke am far from an expert but as was said above ,good soil to begin with,my location is not the best for getting these great soils but i will keep looking not sure about putting a log in there ,then again it might help disguise the smelll!funny one retired!like your style...thanks again any advice is good advice

you can build your own soil. just get you some peat moss, eath worm castings, bat guano, azomite, lime, perlite etc. just go to the organic section as mentioned before its packed full of info.

the way i germinated is soak the seeds in bottled water overnight. then i place them into a wet paper towel and fold it and place it in a ziplock bag and i blow some air into it then place it in a drawer under my pc(as long as its not a cold location). then check on them in the evening then in the morning each day till i see they have cracked open and the little white taproot is starting to come out just a little.

Il then go and plant them in solo cups about 1/4-1/2 inch deep. I use a heating pad with a tray with a dome and just check it till one emerges out of the ground then I take the dome off and get the lights crankin :)

that all sounds like such hard work....mixing all that stuff together my location has pretty limited availability of choices for such things, thanks for the germination advice very helpful, but i think a, just going to have to go with some off the shelf soil mix it up with a bit of perlite and test out the ph,ive done a reasonable trial before just uusing mg soil but had a small problem with black fly in the soil which was contolable although a pest ,will take a peek in the organics for advice but room space and availabitly of ingrediants is a major factor ,will have a look online to see if i can get some magical mud...
