Best method of Germinating?

I have always used paper towels (damp) on a plate with another plate upside down on top set on top of fridge for warmth. Works for me. I use a heated tray and dome for clones though..

this is my first time germ seeds i used to get small plant but i have 10 seeds in a paper towel and the towel is in a zip lock bag with air. it been 2 day and nothing happen do i need to give it some more time or should i put them in water

give it like 4 or 5, if nothing then you can change your plan. Is the bag in a warm place?

the towels should be moist but not sopping but more importantly not dry!
i push out most all of the air out of my zip lock. Keep it in a warm and dark place.

i'm glad you mentioned this because i was wondering if the amount of air left in the bag made any difference and it sounds like the answer is no - it does not.

I've inflated it and had great results. I've also inflated it and accidentally not sealed it all the way and it deflated, and it seemed to be the same. It just makes me feel better to blow it up I guess

Well I took your advice and just put the seeds in some moist paper towels inside a ziplock and covered them up with a plate. It's now on top of my fridge. Hopefully in a few days they'll all have a tap root.

Best method i think is put them in a cup for a day then put them in a moist towel and keep them in a dark cool place and moist at all times.

i just put 5 stright into soil and i got 4 out of 5 to grow but its my first time 2 so maybe i'm lucky

this, i think, is actually the "best" way to do it since any transplanting can be shocking. the reason a lot of us "pre-germ" is so we know the seed is viable when we plant it.

exactly, I feel like an asshole if I put it into rockwool cubes straight off, and after one week 4 out of five of them sprout so I throw the last one away. It makes me feel like I'm throwing away a baby or something.

I just posed a similar question, and while I've germinated lots of different seeds on paper towels, I've NEVER had luck transplanting them to soil. Any tips for transplanting without killing them would be appreciated.

you want to plant as soon as they crack or when just a little bit of tap root is showing (see pic). You want the tap root to point downwards when planting.
Don't bury it very deep (1/4 to 1/2 inch at most) and cover loosely. a wee bit of water (don't over water) and once you see green, get them under lights (HIDs far away, CFLs nice and close) and you should be all set...
