so i want to know what is better for a hydrofarm megagarden setup it is ebb and flow will be doing SOG and looking at a 600 watt agromax dual arc bulbs but don't know if this is over kill for such a small area 2'x2' let me know thanks i could just bump down to 400w hps instead, also looking to get fairly soon so a speedy reply is really helpful

That's a lot of lamp for 2x2, I suspect that you could even get by with a 250W or even a 150W at the low end.

OK so what do people suggest for a hydro farm mega garden system will be doing SOG with almost no veg time if any at all. Also so not looking to go "low end" i want the light that i can get the best yields from without wasting lumens or power/money at a certain point plats cannot asorb any more light so a 400W would give me like 12,000 lumens a SQft i read somehwere that the sun at the equator is like 10,000 square foot or so help would be appreciated. i read on here somewhere a guy uses this system and pulls a pound to a pound and a half but don't know what light he is runing and has not replied to me yet

If you're pulling a pound or an elbow and a half from a 2x2 garden you should probably let the Catholic church know that Jesus finally came back from the dead and he's growing pot.

i have not but someone on here that grows medical says that is what he pulls which in reality could be done 15 plants SOG. In a soil setup you could get up to half z with right strain and a quarter on the low end so with hydro i would think that it can be higher so who knows could possibly get a oz a plant which would be 15 oz just shy of a pound

If there is someone who can get a 1.5 pounds out of that little garden, and I guess that anything is possible, you need to find out how he is doing it in exacting detail. If you are successful in this, post the grow so I can see what I'm doing wrong. I would be surprised if he was going more than 50W/sq foot but, that may be a part of what I am doing wrong.

2x2 area I would get a 400 hps and a Eye Hortilux Super Hps. same bulb start to finish. Less maybe the 1st week of so under fluorescents to get started.....

1 1/2 lbs from 4 sq ft? I would have to see that. Plus I could get Jesus' autograph.........

yes a pound and a half seems a little over exaggereated but as to what ow douglas said about the wattage per square foot 50 watts per sq ft i thought was minimal 100w per sqaure foot is best am i not right? also i would be happy to just get a oz a plant do you all think this is fesible with this system and a 400 watt hortilux bulb here is that guys post at the bottom of the page of this link https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponic...ofarm-mgsys-hydroponic-megagarden-system.html

only need a 250w. i have 2x2x4 box that i do a 9 plant sog well i leave some side branches with tops to fill in space but flower early. i keep them around 18in and get very close to a g/w. i was going to get a mega garden but got a bigger light and passed on it. hope that helps

I just happened to stumble across this and the other grow you were talking about the guy pulling 1.5 off of this system... unless im mistaken he was running 1000 w, 250watts/sqft. That's a lot of energy but if your pulling that much in such a confined space it's worth it. I'm setting up my first hydro and I plan on running two of these under a badboy t5 prolly the 8 or 10 bulb and pulling hopefully 1 lb every harvest. The only way to get good harvests off systems like this is limited veg time and increasing the number of plants your running. IMO its the smartest way all around there arent many negatives to it.
