best insulation for walls in grow room

Framing up a room here in the future. What is the best type of insulation to use between the drywall and osb?

might look into cardboard insulation, was watching a diy show and they claim that the cardboard insulation not only insulates it sound deadens ,sounds like a great thing especialy if you have the honor of a bad neighbor

Nothing better than cheap fiberglass, per lab testing. It's also the cheapest insulation

Lowe's sell a shredded denim insulation that works great. No mask and long sleeves. It's also so denser and costs about the same.

without a doubt the best insulation would be closed cell foam insulation, it comes in a liquid form in tanks and is sprayed into the wall cavity and expands, It is however expensive as hell,

Closed cell would of course be the best but expensive and not exactly DIY Friendly. Fiberglass batts suck. They will work but if you're willing to spend just a little more, what you want is Roxul Stonewool. Much Much better.

Home depot, Lowes, etc...they all carry it. Easier to install. Safer. Will not absorb moisture. Much better sound barrier. Just plain better.

I agree closed cell is the best, but usually not practical.
If needing more sound proofing/sound deadening than what fiberglass batten insulation offers, personally, I would incorporate a sound deadening system to the framing. Chase wall, resilient channel, etc.

For thermal insulation, foam is best.

For acoustic isolation, the cheapest fiberglass is the best. Foam is the anti-christ for sound, however. Its density conducts sound from one side of a wall to the other.

Know that insulation doesn't do a hell of a lot for sound isolation. Much more impact by installing decoupled double studs and double 5/8" drywall.

^^ They work great to reduce echo coming off the surface of a wall. ^^

They will not work great IN a wall or ceiling, however. Too dense.

EDIT: I'm referring to soundproofing only, here. Best insulation for sound isolation is cheap ass fiberglass.

Chase wall and resilient channel. It's usually how we do it;-)
Reduce contact from one side of wall to the other.
Afterall, sound is transmitted through vibration.
