Best Bulbs for 400 watt hps.

Hey guys. I just upgraded to 400 watts from 250 w and i'm just wondering what the are the best bulbs out their? I was thinking Sun Master or Son Agro, So if you guys can give some recomendations for a HPS bulb and a Conversion MH that would be great although i'm thinking of making my ballast switchable so i dont need to run a conversion. Anyone know of any good articles on making your ballast switchable? safely. Thanks guys happy smoke.

How much do those go for? Have you ever tried the Sun Master Bulbs pretty exspensive though, i here they put out more lumans than others.

the dual spec bulbs. I buy SolarMax One
HPS Dual Spectrum around $ 75, but they normaly run like $150 or somthing crazy.. They hydro shop hooks it up in slo. They had a fatty liquidation sale, everything was only a 10% markup of retail. got a full hydrohut, 600 air cooled, scrubber, table, venting all for $400.

When i grew indoors sunmaster is what i went with and awesome results!!..but im an outdoor guy now(security reasons)...lol

just picked up a Hortilux Super HPS by Eye seems like a good bulb expsensive though $100. What do you guys think is good for veg a dual spectrum HPS/MH? conversion bulb? i have 2 lights now the new one is 400 watt and the old one is 250Watt but im thinking of making the 250 a 400 HPS i'll just put a new ballast core in it.

if you want a dual spec bulb that works in a 400w HPS ballast get a CMH bulb by phillips. All the info you could want about them, as for the price i got mine for like 40 a piece with shipping, but they have gone up in price since people realized how good they are for growing. Anyway Gl with your search. :blsmoke: :peace: Forgot to say they also make a 250w CMH

you can take aregular hps ballast and just remove the igniter and it will run a mh bulb

for my 4oo watt ballast i also run a 430 watt son agro bulb. it gives an extra 30% in the blue spectrum and works great. son agro is the only guys i have seen sell these.
