Upgraded the downstem to one that has a diffuser. Holy shit. Where has this thing been all my life?

Much quieter and pulls much easier and smoother. Now every toke is a luxury toke!

Yes, I know they have existed forever. Never thought I needed it.
 
The other thing I noticed is I can hit it as hard as I want and it never hits too hard. The single hole one could hit too hard. It was harder to get the right amount of pull.
 
I purchased many such perc downstems over the years, they are awesome. I used to smoke exclusively from bongs, and have a great little collection including external perc bubblers and ash-catchers. I don't use them much anymore, as they seem to dilute the herb flavor, and I've learned that they filter out not only the stuff you don't want, but also the stuff you do (like the psychoactive components of MJ.) I smoke out of nice glass pipes these days...
 
I find pipes or joints to be too dry. One of my bongs is a mini bong that produces really nice flavor compared to bigger bongs. Better flavor than anything I've ever had out of a pipe.
