Imo autoflowers still havent taken off much and all the hypes died right down.

My experience of autos is that my photo heavy indicas reach flower quicker than most autos. A lot seem just as long as a month veg and two flowering so i cant see the point.

Lowryder did promise quick small plants but few strains have managed what i would have thought was the holy grail for autos.

Correct me if im wrong but they are more just a handy edition when you cant or dont want to run 12/12 otherwise photos seem by far superior.

Many used them but i see less and less thesedays, used to get a load as freebies but prefer a fem over them thesedays.

Hi yeah I agree with you but photos placed outside during spring would not flower in the next couple months whereas autofem will.

Yer thats a 12/12 light problem again but i agree.

I just think that when autos hit we all thought we would be running autos by now and we arent really. Price has dropped in my bank thats for sure and fem or auto seems the same.

Lowryder gave us a glimpse of very short veg and flower times, i dont know any strain that really does this reliable all the time.

Still they sell and like fems many appreciate that little quirk of mother nature.

Im just curious where do you get this idea on autos? They are grown quite abit. Autos have a dedicated site called Autoflowernet.com with lots of growers. Autos grow 4 to 6 feet now. More than 20% thc. Can be trained via lst/toped/fimmed. Can be transplanted. Strains yeilding 4 to 10 oz. All consistently. The idea you have on autos while you are entitled to your opinion is definatley not a reality. Not all growers use autos, but that doesn't mean they are not working/worth it/comparable to photos.

Grew autos and photos last year. In Alaska vegging outside. Photos I thought and smoke the fast autos. The autos did finish first but inside under lights.

That said this Bering Sea Blue and the Dutch Passion Blue Auto Mazar were nice smoke. Especially the Mazar. Good producers too. For autos

Autos are great just i feel they went the other way to what a lot of us short veg small tent growers wanted. Big autos yes, small ones that flower after 2/3 weeks all the time and finish under 50 cm are much rarer in my book.

Ive grown what i thought would be smaller quicker varieties but they were not any faster really.

I agree they are good in many circumstances and all things have their followings, id love a strain that suits me but after lowryder i didnt see much improvement.

Lowryder seeds fetch a good price last time i checked and lowryder 2 :-)

I think i see what you're saying. So for you the ideal auto is fast flower. For me the appeal is lazy growing with not needing to switch lights, so I'm ok with the still 70-85 days it could take. I guess if flower time is what the appeal is than yeah there not crazy short, though we do have a topic on auto section where a guy got 4 oz(if i recall) in 59 days. Thats fast imo.

I have asked for a reliable quick short auto but no one could really say with reliability.

Probably they just didnt lend themselves well to ultra short veg times and took off in another way.

I would increase production by a third if i had such a strain but all ive tried were hard to get to preflower in under thirty days.

I live in hope and would run autos over photos if i could :-)
