Bernie Sanders is the most popular politician in the US

You do realize that the Muppet OP of this thread believes just that... Bernie or Bust
Not if he acts on the belief that Republicans are the greater evil. From the comment I quoted originally, it seems that he would and/or did. @Padawanbater2 , did you vote for Hillary? Did it matter in your state (was it close)?

It will be interesting to see if the Democrats can become a progressive party and - if not - whether an eligible alternative may be construed. It's going down in the US! Obviously the majority of Americans are progressive (or support progressive politics such as universal healthcare) and both the Democrats and the GOP are gravely out of touch with the population.
I am befuddled with the American democracy: only 50 per cent of the electorate voted on election day, yet millions of people took to the streets to protest in the following days - close to one per cent of the population. Danes never take to the streets in that fashion, although 80-90 per cent of the population vote on election day. You seem to have a very lively democracy, even if you don't score high on participation in formal democratic institutions (e.g. voting). I'm intrigued.
Whatever you tell yourself to sleep at night...

Sanders couldn't win amongst Democrats and you expect Trump voters would buy what he's selling?

It's delusional people like you weakened the Democrats this cycle, you can call Trump voters nuts or whatever, you guys at the left wing version.
sanders was never given a vote. he was kept out by shifty politics and shitty decisions,

my bad . ..still shifty politics and shitty decisions.
The Democrat leadership might have personally favoured the lifelong Democrat over the "Independent in Democrat clothing", but Sanders actually got more positive airtime and the DNC in no way "altered the vote".

He lost fair and square, anything else is just fake news.

No one has a problem with Sanders but his "supporters" are a fucking embarrassment.

as fair as the game is, yeah fair. everyone is so into the two party thing. So he could not run on policies alone. Besides his policies came off as drastic and he as wacky. in the end so far people got the other kind of change instead . still shifty politics and shitty decisions.

If a certain group of Democrats had've campaigned as hard for the Candidate as they did for the primary loser we'd be in a much better situation now (and Bernie would no doubt have gotten whatever cabinet position he wanted).

The OP made more " I hate Hillary threads and I hate Hillary comments " than anyone else on this site. Even into fucking November when it was clear that we were going to get Hillary or Trump, this fool still telling people not to vote Hillary.
Pada and his muppet master were doing this shit far past Bernies lost.
What does it matter how close your state is in a election, when you spreading bullshit worldwide.
Pada and others added to his bullshit we now have

Sit behind your keyboard and babble incoherently- or dig a little for a better understanding of the reasons why things happen as they do. It's up to you but if you never look beneath the surface, don't be surprised when people like me call you out for being shallow- and vapid.

Actually I think he would have won in the general. So many of the Trump voters were more interested in "change" than they were the idea of President Cheetoh.
Agreed. Are you suggesting he should have eschewed the Democratic nomination altogether and run as an independent?

Democrats aren't perfect but are night and day with Republicans when it comes to policy. I am frustrated with aspects of the Democratic party, but I appreciate and respect the work they have done considering who they are up against. I'm not convinced progressives should split just yet.
I'm convinced.

If not now, WTF would it take?!

No, I didn't vote for Clinton, it didn't matter in my state

DNC bylaws state they're supposed to remain neutral, so it doesn't really matter if it's a "lifelong Democrat" against "an Independent in Democrat clothing". Which is a poor argument to begin with seeing as how the American political system is designed to favor two major parties. If you are suggesting he should have ran as an Independent, you simply would have argued he split the vote when Clinton inevitably lost. It's a way for your side to argue everything else was the problem except the candidate you ran. See Ralph Nader. Sanders' strategy was brilliant in hindsight. Which is why he's the most popular politician in America at the moment.
If a certain group of Democrats had've campaigned as hard for the Candidate as they did for the primary loser we'd be in a much better situation now (and Bernie would no doubt have gotten whatever cabinet position he wanted).
Yeah, right, sorry we didn't get on board with your corporate platform. I've told you the same thing about how if you run that shit in the future you won't win elections and you've told me to go fuck myself, yet here you are blaming Sanders supporters for Clinton's humiliating loss.. So which is it, asshole? Do you need my vote or should I go fuck myself? If you need my vote, earn it, you're not entitled to it.
Pada and others added to his bullshit we now have
I told you this would happen. You have only your ignorant self to blame. Bask in it. You earned it.

How do you see that working out? Seems to me it would split the vote. Look how well the tea party has stained Republican policy, progressives can do the same with the Democratic party.

i guess that's an easy thing as a white man to say to a black man. after all, it's not like trump ever called for the execution of 5 innocent white men, or systematically racially discriminated against white families.
No, it's easy to say as someone who was completely vindicated throughout the course of this election. You just can't help but bring identity politics into it.

What I supported was better for African Americans, what londonfog supported wasn't as it turns out. Hey, maybe pay better attention next time if you truly wish to help black people, like we did.

The wind of change are blowing, and picking up speed.

The Tea Party pushed an already right wing Republican party even further to the right- and arguably away from the interests of the average American.

The progressive equivalent would have the field to itself and could easily lead a landslide to the Left.

Better batten down the hatches, those wings of change are going to be hurricane strength sooner than you think.

I smell a massive backlash coming against everything the Republican party has stood for over the past 40 years. My nose is rarely wrong.

My point made. We all are about to bask in it. The difference between me and you is, I own my businesses and can decide if I want to pay people 15 dollars an hour. I also collect a nice pension from Uncle Sam.
How is your fight going for that minimum wage increase. I guess you will have to earn it :hump:
