Trying to figure out if i should water cure my bud or just cure it in a jar. Are there benefits to water cure? is it healthier? smoother? I know it loses weight but thats not a real big deal because this is my personal smoke.

A water cure done right can improve taste and smoothness. The 'look' of the nug decreases. I did it once and wasnt too impressed- the only reason i did it was because i had a mild case of powdery mildew. This helped wash any mildew away to make my bud a bit safer. Try half and half. Let us know your opinion.

I've only done it once with bad results. After the sixth day, the buds started
absorbing water like a sponge, getting very bloated, until they finally started
falling apart. That said...
I got spider mites early in the summer so all the plants i've harvested since the mites
I submerged the cut and trimmed buds in water for 3-4 hours to make sure no mite survives.
That short soak doesn't affect look, taste, or weight. It in no way resembles water cured bud.
Compaired side by side with "normal" buds, there's really no difference.
I do notice one benifit, buds dry and ready to jar up to one day sooner than my normal cut, hung, and dried buds.
If after a good bombing and cleaning of my veg and flower rooms, i'm unlucky enough to get mites again, i'll use
the same method at harvest time, no question about it.

I never had any luck with the water cure, it just seems wrong to take a plant that I've looked over for months on end, trying to keep it not to wet not to dry, and then drown it in a watery grave, I like the taste of my ganja , to the point that I'd sacrifice a little potency for great taste and smells.
