Bend in Extraction To Acommodate Filter

I need to attach a carbon filter, thing is it won't fit in directly on top of my fan so I'll have to get a bend, close to 45o in there and have the filter lying horizontally. Now I'm just worried that this bend will reduce the extraction rate. What do you think? If it does then I'll just have to take out the fan, cut a new hole in the closet ceiling and put it back in towards the front where the roof doesn't slant down on it-a lot of work and hassle.

Never thought of that! Do you mean just cut out a few inches and then put the top back on it? How would I reconnect the top? I'm buying the filter this week so I'll check out the feasibility of that suggestion. Thanks.By the way, any suggestions on my overcrowding issue Mogie? It's posted there down the thread. Starting out, I never thought the plants would get so big and bushy and want to resolve the problem before flowering.

If they are vegging top or prune them but I bet they are flowering. Right?

If so try this.

Tie the top shoots down now! You don't have any other option if the plants are too tall for your space and you're already flowering... it's too late to trim them back and if you can't raise the light or lower the plants you have to tie them back.

Get some good staking points either on the plant containers or in the tray and pull down the tallest shoots until they are at a managable canopy level. They will revert back to top growth and be pointing up a few hours after tying them down. You won't get the big huge top colas but you will likely increase your yield.

Hi Mogie,

They're still in veg stage, about 40 days old and real bushy with lots of side stems and shoots. Height isn't a problem, the closet is 8 foot tall. I'm worried they'll get to dense and crowd each other out. They're over a foot now so I imagine they'll get up to 3 foot in flowering. I'm thinking of getting rid of two to give more space for the biggest. What you think? What would you do in such a situation? I've attached a picture to give you an idea of growth density. Unfortunately all I have is a small closet and I never really reckoned that they'd get so big.
