I grow a great deal of my own food.

I've also been into canning and freezing for a couple of years now.

That has taken a huge chunk out of my grocery bill.

Not to mention the unbelievable food quality you get from home produce.

kudos, my friend

Do you hunt too? Have you smoked any of your food?

I look forward to growing my own veg, maybe having a small chicken coop.

Yes, I like to hunt. I also reload my own ammo to save money there too.

We do a bit of trot line fishing as well as standard rod and reel, so the freezer is full os fish.

I like to butcher and smoke my own pork as well as grind our own sausage.

We eat pretty good around here.

I have a small backyard garden that I grow vegetables in. Also fixed a lot of things in my house for example painting, drywall, refilled my kitchen. Instead of hiring someone for these things which saved me tons of money.

i'm not really equipped to hunt much, but I do what I can there..... we get alot of free game meat from my grandpa, who gets it from his friend/neighbor..... Other than that, I'm the father guy that runs around the house turning off useless lights/heaters, etc behind the wife and kids.... I also completely shut off the water heater for most of the day when the weather permits, which is rather often.

Yeah man, I hear you.

If it wasn't for me turning them off, my wife would have every, and I mean every light in the house on all day and all night.

what the hell is up with that??? It seems like if there is an electric object around, my wife feels the need to have it on, and I do not understand it. I've actually went as far as putting up signs around the electronics/light switches.... "please turn off when done", and "turn light off behind you"..... they've managed to slowly disappear though, and the lights still tend to stay on :(

I try to be as self sufficient as I can. I have a small farm and raise all my own meat and plan on putting in a veggy garden this spring.

And don't even get me started on her and her leaving the straightening iron plugged in.

I guess that one is universal with the female of the species..... we've actually had a small fire b/c of her leaving that damn thing on and the kids knocking it off the dresser..... scared the living shit out of me.

Oh man, you can't buy meat like this anywhere.

It's just marvelous.
yeah i live in some other country, and my family has their own farm and the meat is unbelievable, we nurture them, protect them, then butcher them and eat them.
no slaughter house, no chemicals or packaging, we butcher it, let the flesh settle for a day, then eat it. huge fucking barbecue.

I dont have cable, internet, computer, car payment...expensive i-gadgets or anything like that really.

My lady and I cook a lot, watch movies at home, smoke a fuck ton of our harvest, and we both read a lot.

I dont really "go out" because it costs way too much to "go out" in LA and we both dont really feel like we are missing much.

Basically, we live simply and make the most out of everything that we do have. We are not compelled to flaunt status symbols in order to find self-gratification
