Do you have a plant count limit to follow? I do so I grow full size plants. 2.5x2.5 is a good footprint per plant, anything smaller is a pain. I like 6ft tall tents minimal or taller usually 6.5ft. So a 2.5x5 would be half of a 5x5 which many people use. A 3x3 will handle more humidity for one big plant than other tents with more plants but less total square footage.
Mars hydro makes nice lights. I use bar lights and put box fans above them which got rid of my powdery mildew and budrot problem. Something with a free spinning dial to dial light. Carbon filters, I use 6” vivosuns and 6” inline ac infinity exaust fans.
Youll need a dehumidifier, I highly suggest a real one that uses like 280w and uses refrigerant. Idk how big you are trying to go for grow space but one of those should be good for a 100 sq ft space. I use two but I have 6 big plants and packed as much possible.
A 380w one could do for something like 150-200 sq ft or you could buy two smaller ones. That will eliminate humid bubbles in the room. In actuality it can be a little different for you but thats just something to think about. How dehumidifying a space goes.
Despite their ratings we use it for something else so just got to see what works for you. I use frigidaire but read midea can perform slightly better when it comes to reducing high rh as fast as possible.
Basement vs ground floor makes big difference. Ground floor especially smaller rooms build heat fast, even in cooler north mid west environment for me. My flower room in ground floor has a window I use a portable ac 5000btu sacc rating. Its 835w and because my grow is so big for the circuit to handle, I run a lead extention cord into room for it.
Basement is super cool probably wont run into that unless its a real small closed off space. Its humid in basement and ground floor always for me but a small bedroom I have a lot of control. I use basement for drying flower and growing veg plants and mothers. Its cool enough to dry 60F which is important but its too cool for my plants there.
They make grow tent heaters I might try them out. Leds are the most used now but there are high pressure sodium lights and the like but they dump lots of heat and often need be exausted straight outside, idk its just not a all year round sound option and uses almost double the electricity.
You got to find a grow method, I do drain to waste coco. It is pretty easy but sometimes the method picks you and you just make it look easy. There is soil, Ive tried a few times, was not for me. Maybe try a few and see how it works. Until you find one that allows you to move onto bigger things in your grow.
Genetics are important, getting from a reputable seed bank is a easy start like attitude seeds or north atlantic seeds. Its up to you to let us know certain things like where abouts you are as that could be challenging to find genetics. If you live in a certain country etc, people here can help you find genetics.
Genetics will be what determines high yield, high frost, top tier aroma and taste. The rest is just keeping it happy with all the equipment we discussed here. It gets deeper, you can easily create your own seeds, strains, clones and more.
