Before i start my grow

My first grow and i have a 400 watt hps, red/yellow spectrum, i have lowryder2 seeds and was wondering if i could start the seedlings with this light and if i can how far fom the plants would it need to be? its a soil grow too

You can use the light from start to finish. When they are seedlings about 3 feet to 4 feet away.
