Been 3 days sprouted, not sure why the leaves are curling

Can anyone tell me, why my seedlings leaves are curling? On an 18/6 light/ dark cycle, and being watered, could it maybe be lack of nutrients? I am using Jiffy natural and organic seed starter mix. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Also not sure if they are reaching for light or not, I have the grow light 6 to 12 inches from tops of peat pots

They look good. Those arent leaves, just sacks of nutrients to get the seedling to where its at now. If they keep stretching then yea get them more light but they don’t look bad.

Happy 4/20 welcome to Roll It Up!

Thank you for the feedback so would you say 40 % on the LED lights or should I turn them higher or lower? Also, how far from the top of the seedling would be best? My tallest is 1 1/12 inches tall, I appreciate all your feedback!

There's an app to measure ppfd. It's called Photone. It isn't the most accurate light sensor, but it's close enough. You can either turn up your light a bit or lower it until the ppfd matches this chart.

Here's a page to give you more of an understanding of ppfd as well.

It's good to know the Daily light interval as well. There's a lot to read up on.

They look fine just where theyre at, I usually go by feel. If they stretch, lower the height or raise the intensity.

Im a newer grower too and starting to just go by optimal ppfd for each stage and shoot for that. A ppfd meter is best but I use a lux meter on app on phone.

I mostly just go by feel though. Veg dont need alot, like 350ppfd if I recall. So I just dim the light and shoot for 10-15K lux maybe 20K.

Just dont let them get 3-5” tall for the next week, then it will stiff up, become sturdy and stop stretching.

Just avoid this and if you do this, when you transplant, bury the stem. It will be hard to grow into the next phases but still possible.

Youre doing great so far though thats all I came to say really.

Idk what light youre using so idk the height and intensity, try referring to a ppfd chart from the manufacture. A meter or phone app is best though.

Thank you, I’ll send a pic of my setup, still lacking my grow tent, waiting for it to be shipped, and little fans as well

Thats nice! I use Fecida lights too, here are three tents with them. Good lights so far. I flowered with couple of them once already, pretty good results for an after market light.

Something to start out with but for sure good for veg. About to see how they flower with 3 clones. The 2x4 is only 65w each but growing just like rhe 135w so far.

Is that a Vivosun tent? Just picked up one! Those plants look absolutely amazing, I can only hope mine turn out as good as yours! Keep up the good work! How many have you grown so far? how many did you have that flopped? (didn’t make it), I started out with 10 seeds, 4 honey cream which only one germinated, 3 O.G. Kush, and 3 Trainwreck

Thanks! Yes two vivosuns. I like that brand, I get a lot of things by them. I have a perpetual clone grow I just started so I don’t pop seeds anymore, its Watermelon Ultra by TH Seeds.

I ran it once from seed along with another strain I kept. Before that I grew a lil over several different strains from seed, paper towel method, various success rates. Thats it though, new grower still.

Sometimes I struggle sometimes it was very vigorous and carried itself flawlessly. Still my go to method. Rooting clones is worth looking into, its why everythings going so well lol.
