baskets for veg and bloom

Ok so we're new to the dwc method. All of our knowledge and success before was in dirt, thought dwc would be a much better way so we could keep our numbers legal.

Took clones and put them in veg in three inch pots. Doing fantastic after we eliminated the light and then the slim. Now we are ready to put them in bloom next week, and here is our question: our bucket lids have six inch baskets. How do we go from a three inch basket to a six inch basket? Silly I know but totally stumped. Should we have started in six inch all along and if so now what? Thank for you help!!!!

Just saw you had no replies so I thought I'd throw a couple of suggestions your way.
When I do DWC, I start in the 6 inch basket lid. If you want though, try sticking the whole 3" pot in the 6" pot and surround the 3" with your medium such as hydroton. Your roots should make it through.

Other option, would be to cut away the 3" basket while trying to avoid cutting or damaging the roots etc.

hope it works out.... Oh, and if you go back to growing in dirt.... try soil instead.

Thank you...lol yeah soil. We thought about putting one basket inside of the other, I guess our concern is how to get the roots through the second basket. Will they just naturally make their way down through or do we need to cut the second basket and pull the roots through somehow?

Yea, I'm sure the roots will make their way through. That misty atmosphere will draw them there. Just keep the roots covered, the lights will cause slime...wait... you already learned that one. ;-)
