Barney's Farm lsd

I found LSD to be not nearly as good as the others i've grown. Looks nice, but not nearly as potent as AK48 or even pure power plant. I am phasing out LSD; no more clones, just finishing what I have.

almost ready maybe about another week or two depending on what kinda high i'm looking for
Now when you say 58 days in to flowering, do you mean 58 days since the light schedule was flicked over OR 58 days from when it pre-flowered?
I have 4 going right now (i'll post pics when i can borrow the cam) and they are roughly 5 weeks past when i changed the light hours but they look WAY less developed than the Dinafem Diesel sitting right next to em. I did re-pot in the first week or something of flowering which could of delayed them a bit- but the diesel has had the same treatment. Same re-pot day from same sizes, same temp, same nutes, same. If I figured they both grow the same speed, i would say the LSD was roughly 2 weeks younger.
One thing that has struck me though is how thin and sativa like the leaves are on all 4 LSD. The pictures you guys have posted have way fatter fan leaves. And short? No it easily beats the Dinafem diesel and i would say is on the taller side of medium. At this rate it looks like my diesel might finnish at 9 weeks in total, so i'm thinking from there the lsd will go another 2 weeks longer making 11 weeks in total- definitely no where near the 8 i was hoping.
Maybe it was the re-potting? Well actually i think not because i didn't have enough pots and 1 lsd wasn't re-potted that day and it is no better.

Did i just draw the short straw 4 times and get the wrong pheno? Too many variables to say...but i already bought another 5 some weeks ago so it will probably be in my next grow too.....

Where did you get that timeframe from hazey grapes?

I want to know why attitude says 60 - 65 but the barneys website says 65 - 75?

Seriously you're going to quibble over 5 days? Environment alone could cause such a difference, let alone nutes etc. Actually, I find that the LSD takes much, much longer to finish.

attitude's description, i think i'll start looking for second opinions on flowering times listed there just to be safe. actually, i would have guessed an even earlier flowering time as my gal almost stopped growing vertically when i put it into flowering and just bulked up where my 45 day C99s were still stretching. i'm really going to have to start keeping records when i grow.

My last batch of LSD which I just chopped in the past couple weeks didn't even have many trichs or aroma at week 7. I was worried that it was just fk'd up. But I decided to be patient. couple weeks later it started maturing more, got some trichs and aroma. All told, I think it was 14+ weeks of flowering for it. I'm done with it after this last batch I have going. Takes too long and I don't like the pheno..all stringy bud etc. Don't get me wrong, it's potent weed but I don't like the bag appeal or the time.

I'm gonna have to agree with tet's last post on the time frame. The bud is definitely covered in milky trichs (amazingly, you can actually see the little stalks and mushroom tops with the naked eye), but I got these seeds under the impression that it was quick flowering. Don't get me wrong, the smell is very intense and the buds are huge and dense, but I thought it would be closer to picking by this point in time (day 71 into flowering). With my 60x-100x microscope, I've been carefully inspecting the plant with every watering. I would have to say 90% milky trichomes, 8% clear, and about 2% amber. I've read all these past posts on certain individuals' personal preference to the amount of THC compared to CBD's. Well, I got this strain under the impression that it would knock me on my ass and I'm positively certain that it will when it's done, but its still got at least a couple more weeks to go before the amount of amber trichs I'm looking for comes anywhere close to being a reality (closer to 50% amber). I'm still using all the same nutrients (Botanicare Bloom, Super Thrive, Liquid Karma, and Hydroplex), just starting to taper down the strength of them all since it's finishing up. Great looking buds and an awesome smell, but agreed on the time discrepancies of most of the companies that sell this strain as " fast flowering ". Will continue to post pics and updates until the very end, so subscribe if you haven't already. Looking forward to describing the taste of a perfectly cured piece of this monster. (71 days into flowering is the point at which the light schedule was switched from 24 hrs/ day to 12/12 cycle. The other two plants don't look as picture perfect as this one came out to be. They are taller and much more stringy then this pheno I've been posting pics of. So don't worry I'm experiencing much of the same issues many of you others out there are. One thing I can state is out of all 3 feminized seeds, none of the plants have hermied thus far, which was a worry starting out because of some of the other threads and articles I've been reading). Thanks for following, I also have Blue Hash, Skunk #1, White Rhino, Super Skunk, and Vanilla Kush strains in various stages of development, and will be making Thread's (with pics) on each one.

Oh thank god. You know see i was doubting myself like how did i fuck up 'so bad' but yet have the plants looking very healthy and other plants with the same treatment apparently doing better- now i've got hope it's just a 10+ week flowering pheno i have going.
When its' ffiiinallly done or at least looking more exciting i'll post pictures.

Just a little update with pics. Definitely is going to be some VERY potent stuff. The smell just overwhelms you and the buds glisten in the light. Can't wait to smoke when its all finished. However, will not be growing this strain again. It really does get stringy and tall, and the flowering time is just too much (at least another 3 weeks to go and its on day 80). Looking for a flowering time in the area of 2.5 months and something that is a little smaller. I'll keep updating this thread with pics until this grow is finished.

Looks and sounds like you are getting a pheno just like mine. It doesn't clone that well either; my 2nd and 3rd gens seemed to take even longer and didn't even have trichs to speak of until way past week 8.
Watch for an extra little "horn" to pop out the top of each cola lol. Mine all did that.

awesome ty for the advice tet, yea the clones didnt even make it, and there are two seeds left. Gonna put them on the back burner until the urge to wanna smoke this again possibly arises. Gonna stick with shorter flowering strains for cloning.

all of my trichromes were frosty white. i might have harvested early. i didn't time anything on the grow and just plucked it when it looked like it stopped growing.

Well, there's growing then there's ripening/maturing. Not necessarily going to end at the same time. In fact in my experience they tend to continue maturing quite a while after they stop getting bigger.

Yea you definitely gotta have the patience to wait til the bud has ripened fully. Radio Shack sells a mini lighted microscope for around 20 bucks. I highly recommend picking this up, it does 60x - 100x magnification. This is the best tool I have in my arsenal to let me know when its fully matured and ready for plucking. Now, when you wanna pick is all up to you, but most people like the trichomes on their bud to be about 50% milky and 50% amber (you will be able to clearly tell the difference under the microscope, its almost impossible with the naked eye) to get the best all around high. Some people even wait longer for 70-75% amber trichomes to get that extra couch-locky feel. My L.S.D's are at day 84 into flowering and they are just starting to get some nice amber trichs. I'm gonna have to agree with tet1953 again cuz his experience has been spot on with my whole grow. Definitely going to be 14-16 weeks (98-112 days) total flowering time. I started flowering a Blue Hash plant about 40 days ago and it seems almost like it will be finished before the L.S.D. Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting the L.S.D down or anything, it smells great and the buds are huge but, again, I will not be growing this again because of the flowering time (and none of the clones lived anyway hehe).

I had one of those RS ones. They're ok, but it's kind of difficult to get in close on a live plant. Then I found these. There are tons on eBay for about 5 bucks, I bought a dozen. The black part does slide in and out for focus, but there's no need. Just push the thing into your bud with your eye up close, and moving around focuses. Really easy..like moving a cam through a forest of trichs. I highly recommend.

what kind of optics does the radio crap microscope have? based on my previous experience with stuff by them like 1/4" magnetic tape splicing blocks that weren't even the right size to actually HOLD the tape, much less concave to hold it firmly like real pro blocks or D sized rechargeable batteries that are REALLY just triple As in plastic tubes, i'd worry about any magnifying gear being inferior too. then there were the $120 pioneer receivers they rebrand as realistic and sell for $180. i only go to RS as a last resort.

i was thinking of getting a magnifying loop from a photograpy store myself. i'd expect those to be more professional grade.

Well, without getting all technical, Radio Shack is about 2 minutes from my house and all I need to do is look under some type of magnification just to get an idea of what state the trichomes are in. Its not like an exactly precise instrument is needed to do this, just something that gets the job done, in this case, will work fine. I didn't have to wait for it in the mail, or go to any specialty store and spend some outrageous price on it. It's served its purpose very well so far and I've gotten my money's worth out of it already. My money and time spent are better invested in lighting, soil, water filtration, nutrients, etc..., So, I guess what I'm saying is, I put more effort into thinking about my grow, then let's say, comparing the quality of Radio Shack's batteries, 1/4" magnetic tape splicing blocks, or stereo receivers ( none of which has anything to do with my end yield ) to other brands of the same products. Sure, Radio Shack stuff is cheap, ( that was the point of that last post, I believe ), but like I said, it's not like I'm getting my ballast or r.o. filter from them, just a 60x - 100x microscope that I use for a couple minutes every other week. It does the trick fine and I don't see a need to replace it anytime in the near future. I'll be harvesting all 3 L.S.D plants this week with pics to follow soon after. Should be an excellent yield.
