That sounds like a great idea actually. I left the others in the rockwool and moved on to germ the other 2 CK and 1 LA Woman. Im doing it same way i used to with the paper towel method, cant afford to lose these if the others dont pop either.

I turned the light off as well in the tent where the other "popped" seeds are...

Are you planning on doing a regular grow?

Im going to SCROG the hell out of these ladys. (:

UPDATE- The seeds in the rockwool sadly still havent popped up.

I started germing the last 3 seeds and im happy to say that after less than 48 hours they already have a very healthy looking taproot.

Going to get some solo cups to put the sproutlings in with some lightwarrior.

I would have always put them in my tent at this time...

Should I put them in solo cups and let them sit in a dark spot untill they grow their first set, or put them right into my tent with my 400w HPS?

Any and all input would be very helpful.

Thanks guys

I do mostly straight grows with some topping depending on the strain..I top at the 3rd week 4th week and then the 5th week let them regroup for two weeks in veg then flip to flowering...

As sprouts, they don't need a lot of light, yet. If you are able to turn your ballast down, do it until they start to look like plants, then turn it up. I use a wooden chopstick to make a little hole in the dirt when I put them in solo cups.

Nice,

Yea I left my house meaning to go get some solo cups but was a little too medicated so i drove to home depot on accident... lol. autopilot set in.

I just got some maybe quart size plastic containers with drip holes, put the lightwarrior in with some 6.something pH water to soak the soil (not to much). Then I sterilized some tweezers with iso. The opposite end of the tweezers actually have a perfect little less than a quarter inch top which rounded on the top ( perfect for pushing in and making a perfect hole) after i re-sterilized the tweezers and got the girls from the tupperware ( THANKS so much Prophessor, that technique is awesome) and carefully put them in the holes and carefully covered them with soil. they are my bathroom with no light. ( my ballast doesnt adjust :( ) untill they start coming up a little.

When do you suggest I put them under the light?

And No nutes at this point correct? Just 6.5 pH water right?

Thanks man

( ill try to post pictures in the morning, maybe they even will be sprouted for the photoshoot)

I love auto pilot! Over the years I have spent countless hours roaming the Depot in an effort to address things with the GR. Oddly enough, they don't sell jars.

I am glad things worked out for you. The paper towels just make it easy to know if they have popped or not. That, and it works.

I would put them under some light for sure. They are looking for heat and the light is what will bring them out of the dirt. For now, just water. I would wait until they grow a few sets of leaves before I fed them. They already have enough food contained within themselves to get there without issue.

The day you can enjoy your own medicine that is pure and delicious, is one of the best days to have IMO. T minus 3 months and counting. :)

Haha yea me too. Just not the day you have to pick someone up from the airport. haha

Thanks for all the great feedback.
Just one more question.

How high above the plants should i have the light hanging? esp. at this stage? remember i have a 400w and it doesnt adjust.

I would keep the light a good distance away. You will have to play with it. Too high and they will stretch too much, too low and you will cook them. I would start around 2' away from the tops of the cups and see how your temps look. If you have access to a flouro light or maybe a decent cfl, that would be a good starter option also.

yea i figured.. I have the light about 2-2 1/2 ' away from the tops of the cups. I put two little 4 inch fans facing up tilted toward the light inside aswell to create some airflow.

I will update tomorrow.

Thanks Prophessor!

They look good. I would try to stage the pot sizes up in the future. With such a large pot, it can take the plant a couple weeks to dry it out some times at that size. That will make feeding and watering tricky until they grow into them. You will be fine, just make sure they are good and dry before you give them anything each time you do.

I find it best and maybe some will agree with me, but anyways:
•Soak your seeds in distilled water, wait for them to sink.
• take a solo cup or something similar for the matter put a few drain holes in the bottom and fill with dirt
•Water the dirt
• place seeds in the dirt
• Now playplace your solo cups in your some structure, I like to use a heating pad set on low under mine I find the humid environment excelerates the germination process, keep a spray bottle handy and gently mist the tops of the soil to be sure it stays moist.
At this point they wobt have to be under your light.
Keep it basic once they sprout I will veg then the entire time under a 6 bulb fluoro light fixture. Then I will throw them into flowering under a single 1000W bulb in a tent I use co2 bags and an air conditioner in there with up to 8 plants total at all times I pull anywhere from 6 to 8 ozs of each one and I do it old school dirt method

Thanks for all the other input guys! @Mad_Prophessor So thank God :-) the 2 Cookies Kush and the LA woman all germed and were put into small pots with a lightwarrior perlite mix on the 6th and put under the 400w. They popped overnight and were showing their leaves by the next morning. Here is an update pic. The 2 CK are on the right and the LA is the one on the right.

When should i be thinking about giving nutes?

And how many times a day should I be watering them? I have a large fan inside blowing pretty close to the pots i feel its possible they could dry out fast so ive been giving them a little water 3 times a day when they look dry.

Heres a pic from this morning :-) Might have to zoom in to see the little ladies.

I appreciate the input... but there is no way that they were to deep.. i even felt they might have been not deep enough.

I should have just gone with the damn paper towel method like i have the past 12 years.... :wall:

So anyway now the seeds are popped and have a taproot but I have a feeling they aren't wanting to root out in the rockwool??

Should i keep them in the rockwool or transplant seeds into a lightwarrior mix???

Im growing with soil BTW.
There to deep bro.. The plants not going to find its way out.. don't go more then an inch in Rockwell

Easy killer, just let them grow. Water them when they are dry and NOT before. Lift each pot. When they are wet, they are heavy. When they are light, they are dry. You will get to know the difference soon enough. For now, don't water them too much. They need water, yes, but they also need oxygen. If the soil is soaked all the time, they cant breathe.

I would let them get 3-4 sets of leaves, top them, and then start feeding. Keep the fan away from them until they start to develop, then give them the breeze. The stronger the stalks are the healthier the plant will be. Liquid Seaweed is one of those things you can give them, along with their food, and they love it. It strengthens the outside of the stalk making it more difficult for parasites to invade along with a myriad of other benefits.

Looking good tho.

haha thanks man. Yea im using a Lightwarrior and perlite mix so it does dry out quickly. But thanks for clarifying. Honestly the fan is just in their to keep heat down and air moving. I will take it out and put replace with some small 4" fans untill i put the inline fan in coming from my ac ( havent made the hole yet)
