Some close ups for cobby.the difference between a cheap 3k cutter and this cut is almost zero slag and zero grinding. This is right off the table and toweled dry for pics so its dirty yet.

You can see its a lil sharp in spots from the green fibers from the towel lol.

so what would you do just run the corners with some emery cloth?
i have only had a few spots on 2 or 3 bars that needed a quick touch up with a file in a spot or 2, 99% of the time they are done right off the table.
Yeah sanding works well. If you are worried about looks I get plates powder coated for $15 each. Would add a nice touch.
im working on a price now from a guy down the road from me on powder coating,he does all the sanding/prep work before he coats them but yeah his original price was 10 bucks each on the large bars if i do 20 or more, but as you know nobody whats to pay that extra 10 bucks in the diy community lol.im def have a few of mine done just for the cool factor.but this guy does patterns also, hylographics is the term i think he used.its where they dip it in a large pan and it comes out with the pattern on it.but thats even more money

Would you make these for a small fee? I like the look, and it's an easy way to keep the heat at a certain height to make removing any heat more efficient.

is that aluminum or like ~16-18 ga steel? when i saw sixstring's design first thing i thought of was how cheap that steel framing (for drywall walls) is.

its not like you need it to be aluminum as youre not relying on it to conduct heat. i may screw around with a piece and a bimetal hole saw just for fun. stuff is pretty thin and easy to work with.

Ask robincnn next week as there will be much more selection and price ranges.as for the heat thing,i have seen it talked about a few times now.i have 5 of these in operation and unless you have zero air movement in your grow space heat will not sit under these bars.the original 1/4 in plate i used on the first few run about 2f cooler than the bars i made from home Depot L bar stock and i assume its from the extra aluminum the heatsinks are attached to. Nothing scientific done testing wise just what im seeing using a temp probe in the top center of the ngl 140mm x 80mm round heatsinks, and i got a boatload of them in operation lol.
What i need to try now is putting a 120mm heatsink set on one of the newer bars and push them to 65 to 75 w and see if they handle more than the rating robin gives them.

were they 140 x 70s?

ive done several 1825 at 1400ma on 140/80 (fat pins), and cxm22 runs fine on the 120/70 (skinny pins)- i think the Tc i calculated in the later one was 75-80C, so not ridiculous
