The whole banana theory is based on info thats been around for quite some time..there was a big thread on IC Mac forums where I think Ive found the best info on this method..basically the guy said that hes used it for years..and has had 100% female ratios....also some feminizing commercial products out there contain ethylene acid as a main ingredient/..

crazyoutlaw, do you mind linking that thread from ICmag to us?

I just got my seeds and I am now trying out the banana method. I wrapped them in a paper towel (1 layer thick) and put em in a ziplco with a banana peel, zipped the bag shut.

Its been 8 hours now and one thing I ntoed was that there seems to be a high amount of moisture in the bag, its condensating on the sides of the bag.

Could this high moisture level possible ruin the seeds if they are exposed to it for prolonged periods of time? OR perhaps even sprout them if it gets that high?

If there is too much moisture in the bag the seeds will germinate and sprout or they could mold. The whole idea is to infuse the ethylene into the seeds before they germinate. I feel that some type of air type plastic containers would be the best bet to prevent mold and premature germination.

So far I have no signs of any males yet and I set it to flower 13 days ago, which is a good sign, for me males usually show sex around 7 days after flowering is induced. I have a feeling some people may not be doing this right. I am pretty sure the container has to be air tight because gas always looks for the path of least resistance, and you are trying to infuse ethylene gas INTO the seed. if you are just using a plastic bag (most are not air tight, if any at all) or a paper bag you might not get the desired results, or it could take much much longer for it to work. For me it looks good so far but I am going to try it multiple times to get a more accurate answer.

I'm a bit confused.

The seeds didn't germinate from the humidity
of the peels?

Do you mind explaining?

sorry I'm lost, I just thought that mold would set
in or the seeds would end up germinating from the
humidity.

When I ordered nutes months ago for my first grow the distributer sent me the wrong items. So I called they sent me the right items I ordered and I got to keep the other items that were left. Its called sensa spray so I googled around reading different things about it and FF moade a thread about it.

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/6410-anyone-use-sensa-spray-before.html

Sensa-Spray works by surrounding your plants in a gaseous female hormone atmosphere. This incites your plants to produce supranormal levels of its own female hormones resulting in more female and less male flowers. The active ingredient in Sensa-Spray is ethylene, which a normal female plant would produce on its own. The reaction to an external application of this natural hormone is to shove the plant's hormonal consciousness in the feminine direction regardless of inherent genetics. Whether the plant was a natural male or female doesn't matter, the plant now responds to such treatment by producing its own elevated levels of ethylene. This may seem odd, but reallly isn't since all plants have the genetic machinery to create these hormones on their own. The only difference between males and females is the degree of genetic repression in allowing it to happen. Inherent females are enhanced, inherent males are sexually reversed. Hormonal inertia in the feminine direction continues until the time you harvest. Sensa-Spray is used at that time in the plant's life when it is still sexually uncommited. For indooor growers, this means before any change to the shorter light cycles. For outdoor growers, this means a few weeks prior to that time of year when you are first able to determine the sex of your plants. Sensa-Spray will redirect the plant energy away from vegetative growth and into the formation of vegetative female sex organs. Sensa-Spray is a unique product. It does not contain gibberellins, naphthoxyacetic acids, nor any other standard commercially available chemicals you are likely to encounter. What Sensa-Spray does contain is a compound which decomposes after dilution to yield ethylene in the proper and exact concentration to incite your plant towards feminization. And since it does decompose after it has done its job, Sensa-Spray is absolutely safe, both to the plant and to you. Makes 2 gallons of foliar spray.
Maybe germinate your seeds in the sensa spray solution? It couldn't be that easy? :-P

I'd still like to hear some opinions on the sensa spray though:twisted:

Did you move the seeds around when you burped? Maybe the few that it didn't work on were buried under the others and couldn't get a sufficient amount of ethylene
