Ballast problem

I have a dimmble ballast that will start at the lowest setting.250watt. After the ligths are on i can turn it up to 600watts. Does anyone know if and how to fix it?

You've got a bad ballast. Get a new one. Or even better yet get with the times and buy a led light.

You can probably buy a second hand replacement for less than the part to fix yours would cost.
Depends where you live though

I got one of these and it's great. 25 cents per led watt. You'll spend less on electricity also.

Got a budget? What country do you live in?

We got "kijiji" (on line private sales) here, I just got an older, new, in unopened box Spider Farmer SF 4000 for $250 CAD, which would replace that 600w HID nicely.

Shop around a bit & I'm sure you'll find something you can afford, but no "burples"

Sucks, but if you wanna play - you gotta pay.
Unless you have decent electronics knowledge AND the controls are not embedded in epoxy it's going to be tough to not spend more money...
