So I ran out of ph up I know baking soda raises the ph of water but is it safe for the plants growing in ffhf.

Look at Alaska naturals PH down ( ascorbic acid ) crystals..... or black magic ph down at Home Depot for $10 if you need right now.

Fox Farm Happy Frog mediums are dial to around 6.3 right from the bag. Shoot for 6.5 to allow for any drift.
if you have a ph pen , you can check your tap water and if it is close to 7.0 it will work as the medium has oyster shell to buffer the ph.
I run water only soil grows ( dry ammended ) and use my tap source only .... no ph pen , no drama.

My tap water ph is way to high 8.8, and a ppm of 650 I’m just needing to know if baking soda will hurt the plants. I’m needing to raise ph not lower it.

Not with Happy Frog ... 8.8 is way high.
You NEED TO LOWER NOT RAISE.
Happy Frog as stated is around 6.3 . Some use vinegar but phosphoric acid will work.

I’m not using my tap water I’m using distilled water. When I add my nutes it in the 5.5 range trying to get it to 6.5-6.8

Baking soda is fine short term. The sodium in it can cause problems if it starts accumulating.

Start with no more than 1/2 teaspoon in a full gallon.

No sorry, better a low ph than using (baking soda) = sodium.(salt) Dont be a cowboy.
If you have kelp seaweed liquid or powder use that temporary, kelp will raise PH
if you have silica , potassium silicate use that it will also raise PH
Calcium with also raise PH. or a little lime or dolomite a little.
but kelp or silica are your best options till your get the proper thing.
