Bagseed smell?

Alright I'm on my first grow and it is from bagseed. It is more of an experiment, I happened to have some t12 lying around and set it up. I know that everyone is against t12s, but this was just for fun. So my question is I have one plant and it is about 3 weeks into flowering with little buds everywhere. I didn't really do any pruning. Now these buds look funky, they are starting to get covered in crystals and what's strange to me is that there is no smell to the plant whatsoever. If I put my nose right up to the top without touching it I can't smell a thing. I was wondering if this is normal for bagseed, or if it should start stinking later in the process? Any one who has ever grown bagseed by which I mean dirty mids seed, if you would post your opinion I would greatly appreciate it.

OK you are just the person I wanna help. I have some advice for you. I love t12's but you have to use them right. By that i mean completely cover the bud sites in light. Keep the t12 INCHES from the bud sites, I cannot stress this enough. You dont have enough lumens to loose ANY. And only blue spectrum light.. I will explain below. That being said, how many light bulbs (t12) are you using? What are the temps around the plant. What spectrum bulbs are you using? Indica or Sativa? And what soil/ medium and nutes do you use? Pics would help a lot.
So there is a theory that plants flowering under a blue spectrum will produce less but more frosty and potent buds. I have founds this to be relatively true on most occasions. But if you have enough lumens this issue can be worked around. If you can grow a strong and healthy plant with enough light, you will have some amazing meds. Its not always about genetics, its about hows it cultivated. The smell you desire will come. Its the resin we tend to smell, you may not have enough yet. Also some strains dont smell to much til the end or even until they are cured. Get back to me with this information and I'll walk you through this. I love t12 bagseed grows. The best smoke Ive ever grown was done with blue t12s and a regs seed sativa.

Alright I have 2 t12 fixtures. They each are running 2 t12 40w Phillips plant and aquarium lights. I have one set horizontally about 4 inches above the top and one set vertically about 9 or 10 inches away. I believe it is mainly sativa because all the leaves are pretty thin. I forget the soil it was a Scott's or miracle grow, I can't remember. I picked it up at ome depot all it said was organic. And I am using vigoro bold blooms for food. I'm not able to post a pic because of the computer I am using. But does it sound normal that it would not have a smell at this stage. And i need to correct my self it has been flowering for 2 weeks and 6 days. The sensi is pretty small I was wondering if I can expect it to start filling out here soon or if the yield will be pretty low considering the t12s.

wrong type of bulb in terms of aquariam? for my veg im using the t12 fixture that fits 2 4 foot 40w daylight bright 6500k bulbs. then some other of hte same rating cfls spread. and i have still been vegging haha

I know that, like I said it is just for fun. But that hasn't stopped it from forming small but juicy looking nugs.

wouldn't you want big juicy buds? oh well...long as your having fun

and the no smell determines the fact you said it was bunk ass mid grade. i dont smoke that shit but i see it on the shelves at the clubs. and well that should describe your non potent smell i would guess. not sure though. my plants start to smell in the tops durring about 5-6 weeks vegg. then when flower starts i had my room stank up from just one plant after 7 days.
but i im only growing highgrade.

all mine are bagseed ( from my personal smoke... i found a few and grew) and all were premo

my first bagseed i planted just popped out male so i ditched it a couple days ago i need to update that.
it was the sour grapes.
ive got like 8-9 other dif bag seeds im working on also and its not a bad way to start a plant.

I grew bagseed for a loooong time but it was from what we called B's/mids, not the brown frown/regs/rags. You say dirty mids... mids are not dirty, those are two dif things. Mids are seeded mersh that's bright green and amber coated. Sounds like you were upsold on dirty rags/regs by them calling them mids. Well my mids bagseed grows came out damn good, although it got super tall and lanky and was most def sativa. It always had a more lemon pinesol smell, I want to say mountain dew, that lemon-lime-astringent chemical smell. Nothing real strong like a deep skunky funk like afghani indicas. I don't think sativas smell as much as indicas, but to me fair, I've never smelled an indica growing! Only smelled it in the bags of A's.

Anyway, congratulations on even knowing what "T-12" is, and getting a plant to bud, you're have some potential.

What are you talking about? Why must you talk about something you obviously know nothing about. If you have never grown a seed from mig grade or less, how can you speak on it? How many half decent growers do you know that has grown a regs seed? CAnt be many or you would know better. Dont discourage the guy because of your lack of knowledge.

Can you give me NPK of the bold bloom? How long did you veg with what size pot? I really need a pic if you want good advice. Move the vertical t12 to 2 inches from the plant. Damn near lay it on the buds and they will get bigger. Get new bulbs too! asap, Youare running out of time

Great news day 21 of flowering and it now has a semi fruity/skunky smell to it. I can smell it when there is no ventilation going on around it. But it is starting to smell as funky as it is looking, I can't wait to see the end result. I think I'm going to give it 24hrs of darkness b4 chop and I'm gonna leave all the leaves on and hang it up. Of course only when it is ready, I am not going to be impatient with. But I will keep you updated on it paulnchuck.

By the way NPk is 15-30-15 but I'm going easy on it. When you say move the vertical 2 inches away, that would be pushing on all the fan leaves and branches, don't you think that would mess with its growth. And right now it's about 28 inches in a 5 gallon bucket. I vegged it for at least 2 months. It during that time it started outside and took some wind damage which slowed growing for a minute. But once I brought it in it healed and never looked back.

the closer ur light is to ur plant the more light ur plant is able to absorb through the canopy, but since ur flowering and not vegging the "growth" ur referring to is ur plants STRETCHING to get more light, moving it closer will make u have tighter nodes this ur bud sites will be closer and more compact and ur light will penetrate deeper into the canopy and the buds on the inside of the canopy will get more light to grow bigger and juicier as well as the buds on the outside.....im still a noob so my info may not be 100% correct but it is what ive gathered throughout my grow which happens to be bag seed as well, however my seed came as a loner in a sack of sour diesel i believe it was that i acquired, hehehe she popped a girl and i cloned her to pieces lol

also the bagseed grow is my first grow as well and 2maro will be my 5th week of 12/12 (4th week of flowering, counting from day 1st pistils appeared) and coincidentally i startedmy grow for shits and giggles and im pleased thus far even if i only yield an 8th of an oz lol i jus can wait to relish in the moment when i smoke this bad boy.....or girl rather, with my buddies and can say "yea i grew that shit in my spare closet!" lol good luck my friend

Keep the light centimeters from those fan leaves. Or tie the fa leaves to the side or together. Do whatever you have to do to get the light as close to the bud sites as possible. And keep it cold in there. That'll help produce more resin

dude the first time i grew weed was in like 2003 and i didnt know shit either, i started some plants under the same thing he has and put them under a 150 watt in a 250 sq ft space, i had like 40 plants lol i didnt know a dam thing but that was before all the info started comin out online and everything, i moved them outside and started growing outdoors ever since, now im a very experienced grower who is back indoors and doing very well on my first hydroponic experience. dont be discouraged little guy just hang in there learning a little at the time so you dont forget it all and you will be a pro in no time i promise, you already have the gifted "green thumb" that is selected to only a few of us and its obvious. use google and gain experience, last but not least dont let assholes talk shit to you and make you feel bad, get better and show them that you are capable of more.

rub the stem between thumb and forefinger, then smell thumb. that is what your weed will smell like.
