Bad news for all tokers

Hi everyone. I popped over to my local coffeeshop in Heerlen the other day, ( I live just over the border in Germany), and got turned away at the door! I know its been going on for a long while now but part of me was somehow still expecting the coffeeshop owners to somehow defeat their governments seeming determination to put an end to the coffeeshop culture we all know and love and preserve the freedom of all tokers worldwide to enjoy the relaxed attitude the Dutch HAD towards cannabis. Sadly that now seems to be over. In all areas bordering Germany now they are not allowed to serve any foreign citizens in the coffeeshops, and starting from the first of January next year this ban is going to extend to all of Holland. What a bummer!:-(

The bam MAY extend over the whole of the Netherlands, not will. Not to mention the intiial ruling is being appealed in the ECHR.

As to all smokers, i think you ight be being a little broad in your statement :D

Think we are at like code orange in terms of loosing The Netherlands, still hope.
Neth.is loosing its grip.Barring a major court UPSET bet the C.Cup will be held in Brazil in 2013, and once the H,Ts. people see how ths Brazilians party,Netherlands will fade to a local squabble.

You are way behind the times. The ECHR has already ruled in favour of the dutch government and it isnt MAY, it WILL be extended to all of Holland in the new year.

They have the right to an appeal...and are doing just that.

And here's a quote from one of many news sites relating to the recent ruling

If the coffee shop owners lose their case they say they will take it to the European Court of Human Rights, on the grounds that the Dutch should not be allowed to discriminate against people on the basis of where they live.
The initial ruling was made at the Hague district court.

Again I reiterate what I said. The ECHR has already ruled in favour of the Dutch government, hence why the ban began on the 1st of may. The Dutch government couldnt implement this ban while it was awaiting the outcome of the ECHR appeal. I know what Im talking about as I have spoken to several coffeeshops in the area about this.

It was a Dutch judge who upheld the ban.

Are you trying to tell me that the appeal was overruled within 2 days of the judge making his decision? I have not read ANYTHING on the outcome of the appeal.

A lawyer for owners, Maurice Veldman, said he would file an appeal against the ruling by a judge at The Hague District court, which clears the way for the weed pass to be introduced in southern provinces on May 1.

Hague district court, not ECHR

I am doing nothing alternative but working on what is available on the net, so who knows to be fair.

What i can say though is that even in the professional buisnesses i've worked for, they have no understood laws and changes to law, hell, one place didn't even know about our VAT tax increase. So i am always hesitant in taking a shops opinion on a legal matter as fact until i can varify it myself.

I don't know too much about the euopean court, bbunch of wankers i want nothing to do with, but i'd have thought that if it it was passed at the EHR then all the news stories would be stating that, and not simply hague district court.

Right now it is the border towns that enforce the law as they wanted to stop people who live in Germany and neighboring countries from transporting back to those countries as a favor to the politicians of said countries. The places further in like Amsterdam are fighting the law thats not country wide yet just regional as it will collapse those economies and make Amsterdam loose its tourism.

Spain.Chezk Republic Swiitzerland, and a few others, may be offering inducements to to H.Ts. for the cup if the economies of Europe keep going in their present direction.I'd like to see it come to Canada.Toronto is hosting the first Autoflower cup in 2013.Details are beginning to come out on the Autoflower network. If they can make this work without the Harper Gov. blowing it up,I'd say Canada is a viable option, and attendence would increase many fold.

Hey guys, it sure does suck the big one. I know people in the South and several coffeeshops have shut in protest. A lot of Dutch people are not happy, they are the ones also getting their rights effected. If a Dutch man wants to smoke a joint in Maastricht, and then is in Amsterdam and wants to smoke a joint, he should be allowed. This is one of the many grey areas that the Government have plainly not thought about. Most shops in Amsterdam are of course against the Weed Pass, (although many BuurtCafé (neighbourhood coffeeshops already have memberships in Amsterdam if you wish to stay inside the shop and smoke). The option of purchasing for everyone is still there, they just have a door for members to go in and smoke. This came about after the Smoking ban was introduced.
There are appeals being made, I do not know too much about them though so will not go into that.
The Dutch have very old money and only now are they feeling the pinch, with recent Govt Bond sales to pay back debt. There is an election this year so hopefully the stupid Right Wing parties will loose their grip. It is the Religous pricks of the Christian Democratic Party that wish to curb leftist behaviour (eliminate it really). Why is it always FUKKING RELIGION!!!!!!!!!!!
Amsterdam say SODOMIETER OP WIET PASS!!!
