Bachmann wins straw poll in Iowa

why wouldn't he? because mainstream is setting the precedent he cant win?
Because he is running as a Republican. You don't win that nomination without the blessing of the Right Wing Media machine. You simply can't win it without the support of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh and Ron Paul has neither. They didn't even let him debate the last time in 2008. Independents don't decide the GOP nominee and RP doesn't appeal to the base.

First I have heard Fox News referred to as Main Stream but it does highlight the up hill climb RP supporters have. You can't be biting the hand that feeds GOP candidates if you want to win the GOP nomination.

RP would have done better running as a Dem against Obama than by trying to take on the Fox News machine. Just saying......

Karl Rove got some weight in the Republican party guy..
Rove is a NeoCon and does not represent the majority of the party.

He runs a PAC and he carries the taint of the Bush years.

Other than that he is just a fat, bald guy.

Wow now you telling me what I would and would not do..ok JohnnyO glad you know me better then me....the fact is she does accept subsidies while complaining against it...and thats not an "IF"..she does...Take the money, but don't complain about others doing it..
I'm not TELLING you anything. You stated YOURSELF that she should not campaign against subsidies if her family receives them.

I say that even if this was not so and her campaign was the same you would still object.

Go ahead. Tell me I am wrong.

I say she can rail against anything she chooses regardless of subsidies; because as long as they are LEGAL, they are IRRELEVANT.

I thoroughly disagree, RP has much more support than 2008, and still gaining more and more support, Obama's approval is right around 40% and RP is the front runner against him, whether fox news admits it right now or not does not matter, in the debates to come they will have no choice but to acknowledge him, the blatant black out of RP from the establishment is a little dirty psyche op that basically is telling the public they are a bunch of 3 year olds and cant have him, "he cant win" "he cant win" is all i hear from them and they are pressing this hard because he is gaining serious momentum, they're shaking in their boots.
RP is the front runner. Dont be fooled.bongsmilie

It is very interesting to watch. RP clearly has tons of grass roots support, yet the media on the left and right ignore him. His support does appear to be growing. I guess the media figure that their ignoring him will become a self fulfulling prophecy and his campaign will die. That may well happen, but it might not too. What if he starts winning real primaries? Can you imagine the party's dilemma at the convention? lol

He isn't gaining enough within the GOP base and RP isn't about to pander to them. I understand that you like the guy and think he will solve all of America's problems if elected. If he did happen to get elected, he would end up being a lame duck president from day one. Not saying that would be a bad thing, but a President needs support from Congress. Where is he going to get that support from? Barney Frank?

In order to be President in America these days you have to win over one of the 2 parties. I just don't see RP being able to do that unless he shits a baby Jesus and and goes all Trig on it. It's not Ron's fault. It's the GOP base. Welcome to the frustration that that base entails. Don't try to make any sense of it. Just saying.......

That's why its a revolution, getting out the status quo. As RP says, when asked about congress, he has a plan to do what is necessary and approach it constitutionally.
If the people demand enough than the people shall receive, the only thing that worries me is fake counts and what not come voting time, and they definitely have resources and abilities to pull that off, it will either be Dr.Paul wins or they pull all cards out (which is extremely likely) and fake voting numbers, (they wouldn't be able to pull that off if he won by a landslide though)
People are sick and tired of the status quo, and i refuse to believe that the status quo cant be abolished in such trying times when people want it most.
RP has virtually created a separate stronger branch of the republican wing that everyone can choose.
So i don't think he needs to shit a baby jesus, but rather keep doing what he is doing, and giving more and more truth and powerful facts, then we will see that prevail, because the truth always does.

Good luck selling that to the Sarah Palin crowd. You are being very reasonable. I can't remember the last time that worked in a GOP Primary. That's all I am saying. It would be nice if Ron was 50. He is making progress. Just not enough and he's running out of time fast. America has never elected someone of his age.

Here's a question for some of you.

What are Ron Paul supporters going to do IF Michelle Bachmann wins the Primary? Then what?

As the famous saying goes "there's a first for everything"
Just like the kenya man.
His age does not hold him back one bit, to think other wise, well, i cant say much to that, other than whatever.
I find it funny that someone would find it unnecessary to support him due to his age being a factor.
I would like to think people are first off, smarter and second off, more logical than that, maybe not though?
People focus on the real issues he injects and bring to the table when no other candidate will touch it with a 10 ft pole.
When he debates he is speaking to the people about the issues that they care about and want solved, and educating all the other dumb ass candidates, if that doesn't give you momentum and support regardless of age and looks then i don't know what will, and i dont want to be a part of that society.

Name the last 76 year old to get hired by anyone, let alone the most important job in the world. Hell, Reagan was 5 years younger and we watched him deteriorate while in office.

Not trying to bang on Paul or you for the support of him. I am just being realistic. Get used to that society. I have to share a country with people who think the President is actually trying to destroy America on purpose because he Hates it. Your problems are small.

Ron Paul does not appeal to a majority of voters in either party. That is a fact and that is why he will never win the election. Again, it's not Ron's fault. Talk to the people that think Sarah Palin would be a good President. Those are the people you need to change. Good luck!

I think we are at a different point than we have been in for over 100 years.
Over the last 100 years has been the status quo and now its deteriorating, great time of change is a foot.

Again, good luck! I think you have an uphill battle that is insurmountably. Had RP had a better showing last time, maybe that would help, but he didn't. The Establishment Money is something you will never overcome. Sad but true. Just suggesting that you temper your expectations a tad. You guys get him on the General Election ticket and I'll vote for him. How about that?

Again, Good Luck! You'll have to go through Karl Rove first. You aren't going anywhere while Rove is on the attack. He's more powerful that Ron Paul will ever be. Just being realistic.
