avg return per oz?

If the OP had bothered to try and articulate clearly he would have said something along the lines of how many grams of BHO do you get from each ounce of material used.
 
yea thats what i meant my bad. also how would one know when the plant material has been used up and nothing else can be extracted? and what happens if the product gets hard like candy like people mention and doesnt have the consistancy of peanut butter??
 
the oil can be cooled and turned nearly solid or heated and behaves similar to honey or PB. as far as how you know when you are done..... idk generally i just use one can of butane per tube of bud but im not sure how much bud my tube holds.
 
also what if during the purging process you replace the hot water a few times and nothing happens like the bubbling or anything?
 
Good bud typically returns me 10-13% of initial weight ... epic bud as much as 20% ... good trim 4 to 8% ... cn

<edit> If the plant residue has no marijuana smell left, that's my marker for a complete extraction. cn
 
what if it was mildly grown and didnt have much of a dank factor? the trim still looks as if it still has trichs on it. can the left overs still be vaped?
 
bump for wanting to know if its still *purging* if when water gets changed out the residue doesnt bubble?
 
Depending on how much trim or bud you use and the size of the tube 1 to 2 things of butane. Alot of people prefer 2 just to make sure its all extracted.
 
yes but it takes a lot and the amount of butane doesn't make sense economically for real low quality use dry ice and bubble bags and then Butane extract the kief if you have a lot of material to work with do two grades of kief one to smoke and another to butane extract
 
Imo I say screen the kiff and collect the crystal and butane kiff and make honey oil and mix the 2 together so you get a nice solid peace of hash.
 
as others have stated the return will depend on the starting material. if it is not top shelf then it might be better to just roll it up, I know I pull 5-8% on a 220g run of bad/low grade trim
