When someone refers to "10 autos Northern lights", what does the auto mean??

auto are what you get when you cross an indica, sativa or hybrid with a ruderalis plant, which will make it flower regardless of photoperiod. autos are smaller and less yeilding then their counter parts, but finish much faster.

I had 12 regular OG Kush that finished in 10 weeks from clone and yielded almost 2oz's per plant, so there are plants in the right conditions that can finish almost as fast with a much higher yield per plant.

Pureblood89 is correct. Auto's (short form for automatic, or autoflowering) have a much smaller yield (between 15-50 grams usually depending on strain), and are usually pretty short, around 10-30 inches. Many people use auto's for indoor growing because of their stealth.

you can grow them year round if your in a warm climate.

They're also great for northern regions that have a very short time frame for growing outdoors.

So in terms for me, its how many "Buds are produced"???,
