yes autos like tops just like reg's don't believe the hype (if hype is negative vibes toward autos) again i will probably not follow through w/this post.. baby steps... baby steps..

I just cut down my AP last night. The plant on the left is the AP.

It took 77 days from the first white hair to done like 96 from seed. Other plants are still finishing.

nice.. ya i can't wait to finish the AP my last one i had to cut at 55days cuz i needed the smoke.. and it was still only two hits to do the job.. so i can't wait to see how it is.. i want to try and give it at least 12wks.. let me know how the smoke is...

Plants look good, as does the buds...but is the whole negative hype around topping auto's not to do with time scale? I mean 12 weeks is way too long; may as well go for a photo...

i guess it depends on the person/needs.. 12 wks for a sativa to finish fat and frosty doesn't seem like a long time to me. a photo is going to take 12-14 after veg.. and while this plant is finishing out i'm also growing indica dominated that take 8-10wks... all in a 4x4 closet.. and when one finishes i chop it down and drop another seed in its place.. all in the same room all under the same lights
this is what the last one looked like that i harvested early @55days.. i'm try'n for 12wks i think it will be worth it

ps by tops i meant lots of tops through LST not topping i've never topped my autos but ppl do

what kind of yield would you get in 12 weeks from seed with a photo ?
i bet its not close to what a auto can pull in 12 weeks

This is true...I'd probably run U.L.H. or Think Different for a long time more than any other auto. Like I pull just under 3oz at the moment at around 60 days, planting roughly every 10 days to keep a perpetual going - which suits me! Each to their own.
I've been checking out a rake of ways to grow, the 12/12 from seed thing is interesting for photo's, as is the 5 week veg 7 week flower cycle....but I'll be honest, I fuckin love auto's! I'm finding it real hard to convince myself to change to anything else. 12 weeks, 8 weeks, fuck it - they're all awesome. Plus some just can't be pushed any longer I suppose too.

I'm seriously considering the Auto Pounder too for my next, or Sweet Tooth. Is the Auto Pounder nice to grow?

ya i'm loving the Auto Pounder.. the first time i just grew it out.. such a nice looking plant huge sativa leaves and gets sooo fucking frosty...i had to chop that one early... this time i did a heavy circle LST i think it's gunna have a bunch of big colas plus with the big sativa leaves you get a ton of light penetration.. i have one more AP beans left but i'll be gettin more.. i will definitely be growing this a cpl times a year
IDK about the sweet tooth i think tek said he grew that out a few times.. i was actually thinking about doing the Think Different to put some weight in jars so i could run a cpl rounds of super autos.. how do you like the smoke from that

Would you advise LST on the AP because they get bushy?? How much did you pull of them too? Sounds good to me, I'm in a sativa mood lol, all Skunk crosses atm...

Yeah the Think Different really is awesome - heavy as fuck, beautiful smoke - they really got all the AK47 characteristics locked in the auto. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was Taviddude, who went to town on the TD...DWC and proper super-cropping - he ended up with a fuck ton of bud....by looking at the way you grow dude, I'd say TD would be up your street! It likes the LST and the longer time frame...

honestly they are big plants i was just fuckin around to see how much they would take stress wise
there is one shit pheno its cabbage like
it likes higher temps other than that they're all yummy

you can run all auto's 10+ weeks
the breeder times are a round about balance of yield and smell/flavor
most of the time if you let them run a month longer you yield more but the smell when you open the jar is weaker but the flavor is the same

I've been growing it exclusively for a while.
6 zips per plant average ScrOGed in hydro with a lot of light.

i was growing under cfl's
id pull 1-2 oz
2 68w cfl's
but it takes for ever under cfl most auto's do
i can pull about the same under the same watt HPS in about 70-75 days as opposed to 90

Yeah, I definitely noticed that light intensity plays a major role in finishing times.
Also the amount of hours of light per day.
