I gave my buddy some northern lights crossed with something else and holy crap to they grow different than regular seeds. the stalk grew like 6in still with the small baby leaves. it's incredible to see, i want to post photos soon. i was just curious if anyone has photos of this too?

Bring the light source closer. Sounds like it's stretching. Add more dirt around that long stem to support it. Like 3"s of dirt.

Yeah they grow fast but it's pointless to try to get them tall. Keep them short as possible since you will spend the most time building buds. And don't give them any nutes until 4-5 weeks. Maybe longer but that all depends what they show

ok ya i thought they were stretching, but i did the same with fem seeds and they grew fine. are auto flower strains more prone to stretching or is that the northern lights doing that?

air movement , temps and light intensity all play a role in stretching ... honestly they dont stretch anymore thn a photo would

maybe ill try a different batch with the light closer, but it was already about 12" away. i didnt want to stress out the little girls ha.

I like to hang cfls like 2 inches above with HID still higher up. It cuts down stretch by a metric shit ton

@black jesus i basically have some wire racks that i use as t5 shelves. the spacing is basically max'ing out the 5 shelves that come with the unit. i dont mind the stretching and considered just raising the soil higher. it's just funny as hell i wish i had photos of them to share. gonna work on it.

@tekdc911 ya i like the t5 lights i have, theyre simply and you can touch them and theyre not hot at all. they have reflectors too so i think that helps a lot. the two switches also helps a lot if i close the door and want to limit the heat.
