Auto-flowering Lighting Question

With regards to lighting; does one need to change between MH and HPS lighting between the veg/flowering phases with an auto-flowering strain? Or can one stick with one or the other? I apologise if this question sounds stupid.

I use 400W HPS throughout the entire grow. I'm sure you can do either one and be successful. I always use 18/6 light regime
