Auto flower v normal

Information there is to the point and much more precise where growers include what makes their grow as in lights, environment and nutrients as well as pics so a lot less pipe dreams or bullshit being passed along. And usually can find multiple grows with similar elements to compare and find differences, great way to learn.
I see tons of people growing autos there that make like 15-25 grams per plant. You need to suck to do that and for some strains its over half of these and then some guy pulling over 100 grams per plant..

Most auto growers are newbies and newbies grow crappy plants even if genetics are good. If you look at growdiaries people growing autos, very large part of them are newbies who pull ridiculous low yields with good genes and harvest too soon.

I dont look at ehat people talk in there much(other than reviews, which most of them are not good reviews), im talking about diaries. Yes there is tons of good info in the diaries, but shitty growers produce information that needs to be discarded and not be taken into consideration. SOOOOOOOOOO you need to know who can grow to evaluate their grow diaries, especially with autos. If you see one strain that has 7 grows all maing 10-30 grams yield per plant only and then you have another strain that has 2 diaries, one pulls out 20 grams and other 150 grams. How do you know if the first group only had crappy growers in it or if the genes are bad?

Yeah, mostly LED growers too.Growdiaries gave me a clue about Inert Medium/Soilless Hydroponic, Advanced Nutrients and other things to do to get the 10 ounce yield from autos.
I think biggest problem growers have is thinking LEDs are going to run cooler than HID or cost less then they fuck around with nutes; which is what this site is good for learning what not to do with LEDs and nutes.
Lots of good info here, more than a lot of other online sources but just find much nefarious posts where they're just selling us something (sometimes bullshit they got caught up doing and want others to), it leads to root rot or simply not clear info.

Mephisto Hubbabubbasmelloscope. 2 liter bottle of coco. Fed 1x a day(way too little but i got lazy), topped(i know. NEVER top autos. They can't handle it or recover in time -_-), grown under 24 hours of light(but wait. They must have darkness to rest XD). I can go on and on. The only bad thing about autos is cheap seeds and bad breeders, and growers that get mad they can't grow them well.
Have you found a solution to finding good seeds 90% of the time

That's really a misconception. Autoflowers are incredivly resilient. My very first auto was a White Widow in DWC. at 21 days, I accidentally broke the stem at the second node! I taped her up and three days later her stem was healed enough to remove the tape. She stalled for about 10 days. I was growing two of these. The second one gave me 30 grams, the plant I broke? 170 grams! Had other really stressed autos,
( been growing them quite a while ), like the one myy dog pulled completely out of a pot of coco, about ten days old. I replanted it just for the hell of it, didn't expect it to live. Again, the biggest and best producer of the lot.

The trick with training them is start early.

I defoliated this girl about 2 weeks ago. Linda seeds Gorilla Glue auto in a 1 gallon ( 4L ) pot. 44" tall. She's so tall in that little pot I had to tie her to keep her from falling over.

she at about day 50 right now

As mentioned above, no time for recovery should something go wrong is the biggest risk with autos.
With photos, most fixable problems will just set you back a week or two. With an auto, an early mistake can be catastrophic as there's no time to nurse a plant back to health.

There are not aanywhere near as much knowledge from the auto community here like AFN. It's mostly just newer growers or 1st time auto growers. The good auto guys here hardly even come in here anymore except maybe a handfull :'(

I'm going to try to be around a bit more, I see nobody gives the autoflower guys much notice. Too bad, there are some reall oustanding strains out there.

Myself, i can't really offer much in variety since i just started with autos in early 18' when i got into Mephisto. I've got 46 of their strains and so kind of went all in before they turned into what they have. Kinda keeps me from trying much else till i get sime of these 300+ seeds grown XD i see Daz Night Owl looks good and people keep talikng about Rockbud. I'd absolutely dive into Dinafem(if they don't close them down), Sweet Seeds and Fast Buds just to name a few.

RIU is really stuck in a time bubble when it comes to auto's. And to be fair it's because like you said most afn peops or more specifically most experienced auto flower growers don't bother posting here. So RIU gets a steady stream of new auto growers posting here contributing to that old school autoflowers are garbage way of thinking.

I grow autos and photoperiods depending on my mood lol. I've got some Wizard's Apprentice x Crockett's Tangie cross going right now. These are an F1 auto x photo cross.
looking damned frosty! Even trichs on the fan leaves! Pic sucks because my phone doesn't like my old QB 324.

and................... for some reason, I can't post pics. I'll try later.

Holy hell Pops!!! Those coco? How much do you usually yeild? I have 6"×6" plastic pots and when i get lazy(all the time) and o ly water 1x a day i will get 1 1/2 to 2 oz on most autos. I obviously wont grow any small strains cause i want it to be worth while. I plan on doing 5x each of 24 Carot, Gold Glue, Sour Crack and Strawberry Nuggets im the spring and hopi g for 1 oz minimum each in coco.

Personally, I despise coco. They are in soil, being fed Megacrop @ 535ppms, PH 6.45. And this is my first time with a true SOG and I just bought the pots, so it will be a learning experience. I'm hoping for 30 females.

Don’t get me wrong, that wasn’t a blanket statement across the board for all autos, just the ones I’ve grown. NL, lemon haze, wedding cake just to name a few didn’t have as high of potency in comparison to the photos I’ve grown. And weight is a no brainer. If size restriction is a factor, than weight don’t matter. But that’s the advantage of photos vs autos, you can veg longer and obviously outweigh an auto by a landslide. I’m not against autos, I just prefer to get the weight for the time invested.
who are the breeders??
Like I said there is maybe 10 trustworthy auto breeders..

And anyone who is forum active and growing auto and hasnt been afn member is a pure dumbass and buster..
