Auto flower topped vs not topped

Oh really? Which one is the tap root here? Did it bottom out yet?

tis a pretty nice set of roots. You've seen no difference in the over all size of your auto's keeping them restricted early ? It's all subjective, however like I said, it's "my experience" that it seems to produce smaller auto's letting them sit in small containers longer than 10 days.
In this case I'd like to be shown I'm wrong (happens a lot). Keeping them in smaller containers longer could be quite useful.

Hey. I'm on day 20 with these 2 Auto's. CKS Super Silver Haze and Kings Bread. Haven't grown neither and this is my 3rd grow. Indoors.

Hour 22.5 after topping them both at midnight last night. Seem to be responding rather well. Probably should've waited a day or two for the one on the left (Kings Bread). As Steven Wilson would say(paraphrased). "She's tighter than a Witch's cleft."

Thanks. So do yours. It's also my first grow with organic soil that's been "cooked" for a month+ and solid planters instead of air bags. Apparently no need to feed with the mix, but we'll see. Just mentioning this because even though I've grown outside for a couple of decades (tomato, peppers, etc), there's always a learning curve and better techniques to improve your skills and your grow. I've learned more about gardening and plants growing Weed for 3 years than I have the other stuff for sure. All transferable skills!!

What this man said. Keep the autos taproot away from the bottom for as little as possible. That's why final pot is suggested with autos

As this was brought up in another thread ……

the “advantage “ is creating a early root mass then transplant into larger or final container. The solo cup start as @twentyeight.threefive showed , allows root mass to throw roots in multiple directions instead of taproot racing to bottom as with straight to pot plantings.

Autos are always overthought …. you can’t do this or you can’t do that. All bro science bullshit .
You can transplant them , top , FIM and even. Super crop them. I have run more autos than i can remember and do these things constantly with no issues.

This diagram should explain it …..
