Auto Closet Grow with 315 watt CMH

I’ve been thinking that. The bulb I started them on was a little 30 watt led I bought for growing lettuce on the kitchen counter. I tried a 300 watt eBay purple led once but the yields were awful. I looked at a 600 or 1000 watt Mars led before I got the cmh, I just really didn’t want to waste my time if the yields were too low (I’ve heard the Mars ones work well, but don’t personally know anyone using them) I do have some more options for heat though. I’m only running my exhaust fan at 50% right now, and I’m adding another small fan to circulate air inside the space.
Get a hlg 100 watt light or get the 135 watt kit you should easily get at least a quarter pound or better and they’re less than 200 bucks

You can top autos? Even when they’re already showing pistils? I don’t know, that makes me nervous.
I would suggest doing some LST with them. You can drill holes around the lip of the containers and use something to tie them branches down.
Ones that are mostly main stem, just bend them over like you mean business. You can apply more bend every day as they adjust.
I think you can get more out of them, than what you're expecting, considering the genetics are there.

New pictures. The lemon auto on the back right is getting huge. The Front left Northern lights is getting huge. I tied them both down 1 more time, probably the last time. The back left northern lights I tied down for the first time. The front right lemon is interesting. It just doesn’t seem to be as vigorous as the other lemon. It has stayed significantly smaller than the other one. Who knows, maybe the bud will be better. I ordered some dynagrow bloom nutrients that should be here tomorrow. I thought I would start giving them some weak nutrients to help with flowering.

I gave all the plants dyna-gro bloom 1tsp/gallon two days ago. They really seemed to like it. Overall I’m pretty happy with how these are growing. The first pic is the big NL, second is the smaller lemon, then the big lemon, then the small NL. The next pic is my two new babies with homemade humidity domes on them. One is another NL, the other is my last diesel berry seed. Hopefully this one pulls through. I might pot these in coco/perilite once they take root. I have been wanting to try a straight coco grow (maybe plus some worm castings).

Day 37 overall. Everything is doing well. After the third feeding with 5ml/gallon of bloom nutes I noticed a few yellow tips on the lemon plants. The next feeding which was yesterday I gave them straight water, I’ll probably give them at least 1 or 2 more feedings of just water before I add nutes back in, when I do it will be 2.5 or 3 ml per gallon. The NL plants have shown no signs of stress, but because I smoke way too much weed, I can’t manage two different feeding schedules.... so straight water for the NL plants for a few days. Here are some pictures. The lemon plants should be done around day 70, the NL 80-85. It’s exciting to see the buds starting to grow on the lemon plants. When I pull them out of the cabinet and get them away from the NL funky stink, I can smell the spicy lemon scent from the lemon haze background. I love lemon tasting weed. I have new seeds coming any day (hopefully today). I order strawberry cheesecake auto and lemon oh haze auto. I’m excited to start those as well.

Day 40. The canopy in this closet is pretty full at this point. The pictures I posted show how crowded it’s gotten. I did a little bit of defoliating to keep the lemons from fighting the NLs, but I think I could do a bit more. I have two new hanging sockets with small 30 watt leds for the far right side of the closet and a new power strip with more outlets and a built in timer that I need to install. I’m adding the lights to the right side because it doesn’t get as much light on that side and my goal here is to do a perpetual grow with 6 total autos, with 2 plants harvested roughly every 4 weeks and 2 new plants added at the same time. (Again, that is the goal, these NL plants are already getting huge which is currently testing the feasibility of 6 plants in this space.) Maybe Saturday I’ll pull everything out and finish the upgrades. Also, there is a picture of a seedling I have, it’s either NL or Dieselberry, I got my sprouting beans confused. I’m debating keeping it in the solo cup and getting in on the solo cup challenge, I’ll decide that later. Anyway, here are the pictures.

By the way, comments and feedback are always welcome.

I installed new supplemental lighting. Two 30 watt actual full spectrum LEDs. I still need to install my fan on the wall or the ceiling to make room for another plant, but I’ll do that tomorrow.

Day 43. The lemon autos are starting to thicken up a little bit. If I go by the breeder info, they only have 27 days left. They might finish by then. The NLs are doing well and have gotten big. They are a good 6” taller than the lemon autos. I found a ball hanging off one NL, so I did a thorough inspection and only found one more, on the same plant. I pulled them off and discarded them. The NLs go 80-85 days so 37-42 left. That’s it for today.

I spent some time cleaning up my mess of power cords and hung two small fans from the wall to replace the bigger fan on the ground.

I have a question about using mycorrhizae. I ordered a few lbs of the cheap bulk stuff on ebay. I am going to use it with 70/30 coco perlite blend. Can anyone tell me how I should use the mycorrhizae? Do I mix it with the coco blend? If so, how much do I add? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

The best way to use it is to apply it directly to the roots each time you transplant. Also, I like to sprinkle some in with my seeds when I germinate-I usually soak my seeds in fulvic acid and kelp extract, then take them out and roll them around in the mycorrhizae before I plant them. It needs to be in direct contact with the root system to work.

Thanks man, I’ll do that.
