damn.
yeah man i'll get on that.....
plant's pretty big so 'im not really sure what i could cover it with....
maybe i'll go get a big cardboard box made...could you recommend anything?
as it is already flowering does this light problem mean it will slow down the process?...don't know if you can really see all the pistils from the pics...
if the problem is fixed, between now and june how much bigger would you reckon the plant will get?
Yep, she will be slow and likely turn on ya (hermi)

From what i can see go to bunnings and grab your self some TARPS...
GET A QUALITY one ..its usually green on one side and SILVER on the other, these are good...if you can get penguin plastic
While your there duck out to timber section and grab some
NON- STRUCTUAL lengths of pine...... or the cheap shit they wont use for building& construction... grab some screws... im sure you have drill... get srew bit..... and INDUSTRIAL STAPLE GUN.

BUILD a coner frame - wish i could draw it for ya... think like a corner cabinet but no side and back on it,
REMOVABLE - slide into place at night !
or just attach the tarp like a tent......... has to be light TIGHT ! for best growth !

cardboard will get soggy !

ok,

little update....i've constructed a shoddy but effective little shade/cover that is keeping the plant in complete dark.. thanks eza...already noticing a difference.

here's some crappy photos...buds are starting to show signs of forming...

There is a shot of the whole plant but half of it can't be seen as it's in the shade and my camera isn't good enough to capture it..

she has started to flower ! Nice.... Next time you pick a spot.... THE MOST IMPORTANT is SUN..obviously.... but dark is just as important....
Gives the plant time to turn the energy usually reserved for GROWTH of folia and stem... and put energy into root development, cell division, and to create growth HORMONES...
that are necessery for development of flower or fruit !... trying not to get to tech on ya ... but complete DARK is as important as good light! Without it she probably would have never gone into flower.. or likley to turn HERMI...

hope she goes well for ya !

hopefully may....

thanks again for your help mate!
don't worry about getting tech...i enjoy getting a chance to learn from experienced people like yourself.

hey there,

took a few pics with a better camera a few days back, thought i'd share some....

firstly, today, the plant looks much different to a few days back...flowers are increasing rapidly..

I took a photo of a sick looking leaf (most leaves look healthy so i'm not really sure what it is) I also took a pic of a stem budding up a bit...

will keep updating as necessary,
thanks anyone who wishes to post any comments or advice, all is appreciated

Ok,

Plant is coming along nicely...
Really started to thicken up.
I have some more crap photos too.

To me it is interesting that the bottom 'popcorn' buds seem to have some balls in them where as the top big ones seem to be all girl... is this normal for a hermi??

Some worms have been munching on the leaves..i've been picking them off whenever i get the chance...a friend told me to spray water with chilli soaked in it onto them...is this legit???

thanks

a few more pics, i'm enjoying having a better camera....

last photo is a bit blurry, sorry i'm a but shaky...it is a photo of one of the underling branches popcorn buds...

it shows what i think may be balls....is this right or are they maybe swollen calyxes?
hope that doesn't sound too stupid a question to ask...i've been regretting the 'guess strain' part of my title ever since posting it....i've got to stop posting things when i'm too baked:confused:

no i didn't.... the darkness part of this thread you're referring to is .... i think.... a combination of bad photos that weren't showing that it was flowering and eza picking mentioning that the ambient light at night (city) could be affecting it... So i basically use put a board and some sheets over it at night so that it doesn't get any of that blueish purple ambient light that the city pisses all over it:)

There is rarely enough ambient light to affect the plant. Unless a huge light is really close to it. Total darkness is always preferable.

mate i have been reading all that has been going on and are very inpressed with the effort here... I'm an Aussie also now living in the U.K and it brings back memories for me.. Outdoor grows are so rewarding.. By the looks of the last pics you have about a month to go.. Are you still using nutrients of some sort ? I would keep this up for as long as you can... As for yeild, i recon a good 3-4 oz dried.Again it's hard to see the full size of the plant with the pics you have, but i get an idea. It looks to be mainly Sativa, am i correct ?? If so it will take well into May before it fully is ready, from memory that is.
How are the smaller buds down the bottom coming along ? Try and keep a couple of seeds for next year if you can, this way you can do it all again.

hey mattyblade,
Thanks for your kind words! Yep, I think it is mainly sativa and i'm still using nutrients every few days...I use an organic flowering nutrient, molasses, fish emulsion and coffee grounds :) I think i'll go out today actually and try and get some more flowering nutrients...especially if there's about a month left...which i think there is too..
As for the smaller buds at the bottom, they look more like balls, or maybe calyxes?.... I'll try to get a photo or two up...
I will definitely keep some seeds...I'm so stoked that a seed literally thrown in the dirt from some bud i smoked has turned into this beast (well a beast for me anyway;) )
peace
