I think where things get confused is when comparing a small grow, where a bunch of LED strips will cane a single HPS but when you have mutliple lights its pretty much the same. If you have 4 x 600W of LED or HPS its still 2400 watts. I think you are thinking about how you can spread the LEDs out over the whole space where the HPS is a single light source but if you have a lot of them hung high then it all evens out in the end.
Yes but also It's not a single light source for the per light number. Its really an area number.

True. Then some people veg for weeks whereas some people veg for zero. KW/h x M squared would be a good baseline.
Kw/hxm2÷(how many weeks flower of strain), I'm trying to figure out some equation that includes the amount of weeks flower to take that into account

So you're suggesting hid would be better when it comes to larger grows because they would all feed each other where led wouldn't?
I think W for W they are similar the savings are in AC costs, Lamp wear and replacement. Ease to work under. Flowers tend to be smaller but weigh more.
IDK many growers on the forums im on that went back to Lamps after giving LED a few runs,

KW/h counts for that cos it counts the hours. As long as you include the veg hours in the overall equation it should work

Got some yellow leaves suddenly cropping up on a couple of plants. Nothing has changed, is this looking like low Nitrogen?

Im no good at diagnosing problems so don't take what i say as gospel. To me it looks like they might of needed more N during stretch and its now an old issue.

It looks somewhat deficient, magnesium maybe..?But with the tips burned it’s almost certainly got excessive something, I’d guess phosphorus, now it’s struggled to take in magnesium and iron properly. If not this, and your ph is good it’s going to be from to much fert so I’d back off a smidge

Yeah see that's the thing half people say there isn't fuck all difference and then people say LEDs smash hps and just can't tell if they just led fanbois or being legit

I asked this question before and the general response was that they aren't really that much better
I have an HLG 650R, but zero experience with HPS in my grow. Only done a couple of grows, but got close to a kg on the second one. The first is often a learning experience. 5x5 tent. Another good point is that you'll probably get 5-10 years of life from the HLG, or until the next leap in technology supersedes it. The green in the Quantum board spectrum allows good penetration into the canopy.
The Samsung LM301H diodes are/were the latest and greatest. If you haven't looked at LEDs in the last 18 months, they have improved in that time, and remarkably so.

nice.
how far above canopy do you have it.
