No shit. It probably is. Unless Cutter have decided to invest in the ability to print the boards and lay the diodes in Australia line hlg have done in the US. Hlg are the only company i know of who currently don’t subcontract out the diode placement (whatever the fancy ass machine is called) to China based companies.

Buying from China is about quality control. I’m buying individual components that are easy to inspect for damage etc. you’ve bought a pre made item that’s inside an enclosure which is able to hide anything that’s Potentially dodgy or unsafe (like bad solder joints or breaks in the traces etc).
How do u know that what I have is shit .. because U've used it b4 obviously

And individual components are see through and u can trust a mass production company thats Asian , ok .. like I said I have a warranty and if it happens after that yr then I'll deal with it .. so I guess u follow advice from others with no questions asked aye.. That is fucking stupid.. nobody does.. so lay off .. I never said Ur light was shit did I . I called it anal tubing

Because i researched cobs 3-4 years ago when they where actually the go for energy efficient lights. When I got back into growing at the start of last year I again researched them only to discover cobs where out and smd’s where in.

I researched. That’s it. Research.

Before I ever bought a single led part I read as much as I could. I planned my build on paper and ran it past those that know more than me for their thought/improvements. When I was satisfied I started buying parts and building.

So from my research:

Will your cobs grow weed? - yes of course, blurples and t8 fluro tubes will grow weed, they just won’t grow quality weed (unless you really really know what your doing and like to waste your time getting perfection from an imperfect system in which case you know to just get better lights)

Will they use less power than a hps? - yeah kinda, it’s complicated. They are more electrically efficient (produce less heat) but they still make some heat and are only slightly more efficient than hps for the same light output. Your light would definitely draw less than a 400w hps but if you had a par meter ($400 I’m not spending) you’ll find the hps would probably be making more light.

I’m glad you obviously don’t work in manufacturing.

If you don’t know what component quality control is don’t ever build something. Like even my mechanic knows to inspect the parts he buys before he puts them on the car. It’s called quality control and you get what you pay for. If I buy something cheap I expect it to have less q/c than an identical product of double or triple the cost.

I buy quality components when I buy things. I spend time to research the products before I buy them. For example I’ve never had a defective bridgelux strip, they’ve arrived bent due to poor packaging from the retailer and where replaced, but never defective.

Cutter has a good name as a electronics supplier in aus. Mark was great with his customer service and I believe gets around rollitup as well. All my research on he solskin products where positive, no issues and the only issue I’ve now encountered was due to the $30 heat sinks (probably China) that can’t hold the driver properly (and the driver was swapped to a different model than they normally supply after talking with mark

I was never pissing and I’m still free balling in my pj’s.

I was simply informing you of the nature of your low quality light. Same thing we all
Did/do with certain individuals who use blurple vipars. You can lead a horse to water I suppose.

The par is what it was rated on and was at the least comparable with a 400w hps + .. and I don't blame ya I wouldn't spend that much either .. I'm not shitting on ya advice or outlook bro, I just want u to know that to start with , it goes from being advice ,to doing what Ur told if u don't make it Ur own , and I'm trying wot I could at that point , and my only issue now is leaving the fucking things alone cause I'm being to overcautious and baby-ing the fucking things.. I just need to get it so the temp stays reg . I'm a few mths old in terms of ability and experience

I know everything u are saying but can u tell me in Ur quality control did u pull it apart and put it back together .. compare physically with others the same.. u can't control shit mate.. it's Gona be wot it's Gona be and ppl been pissing in Ur ear if I think any different .. and I can't believe u used cars as an example haha I'm a towie, tire fitter, truck driver .(was b4 I lost my license cause of epilepsy) and no two things are the same , never have been , if Ur lucky ull get a close replica

Take a step back and breath deeply. Yes mars, vipers and there ilk are OK for veging. They are crap at flowering in comparison to what is available. I can understand why you took the easy option rather than delve into the often confusing realm of LED.
You will get a harvest off them but with that many fans you are wasting $ that could be used on light on heat instead.
If you stick with growing and what to improve your harvest by 20% or more then you will be investing in the lights you should of bought first off. That's not all bad as it means you will then have lights for a veg tent...O look at that you just improved not only your yield per harvest but your yield per year by a significant amount.

And I bet dollars to donuts its not compatible to a 400w HPS, which by the way is an inefficient size, unlike the 600w HPS

Jimmy rocked BTW as did Diesel who just gets better and better, Joan Jet and the Blackhearts were a huge surprise. I wasn't looking forward to them but they played loud, heavy and tight. Richard Clapton was sensational. Others were OK but not my cup of tea. Bourbons and Rum at $12 each added up as did the walk from scrum at the front of the stage to the booze lines way at the back of the site...
But top day had oi, oi, OI

Good to see ya back smurfy

This is a bridgelux strip. I purchase 10-20 at a time. When I receive them I visually inspect each strip looking for both production defects and damage caused by shipping and handling. Takes me about 2-3 mins per strip. I check if they’re flat (they often come bent which can damage the trace within the board), that all the solder points are neatly placed and not globbed up clumps of solder etc and I use a light to check the internal trace as best I can.

If I where making a product with these I was sellinng I’d also get a driver capable of running 1 strip and power each strip for 5 min test run before I use them in a build but for personal stuff I skip this step.

Ok fine. So my plants are underwhelming u all as a beginner with minimal money or support , no friends help me ( u guys are more like friends to me atm) I'm doing wot I can with what I've got , and If I don't make my own mistakes in growing , how can I learn.. I came to the conclusion after watching a video on YouTube about all 3 being compared, and they all had their own ups and downs so I thought , Cob does this and bl'urple did that , then together they would compliment each other ....... So here I am it's not an eBay special.. it's from a hydroshop in QLD so if it turns out shit...... I won't have anything good to say about their store and I tried something using my personal input , collected using all of the great advice from u guys , I'm in the process of getting and building a hlg but I have private meds not on the PBS 4 kids 2 in highschool now damn yr 7.. and I still wouldn't have a light if I didn't get this one ...so I'm winning for me in my books

Mate im just saying to take what everyone says with a grain of salt and don't get defensive when someone with more knowledge than you tells you what they think of your light choice, especially when that person spent time researching and linking you to stuff you should buy.
I aint gunna argue with someone on LED lights with someone who builds LED lights for the simple fact I have no idea what im talking about..(I have built a small led strip light fixture but I just bought what they told me to buy and did what they said to do. I think that was Dope.). I will argue black and blue on something I do know about and often on something I thought I knew about...haha!

Sori bro I snapped b4 , I've had a few dramas with meds and wether I should get on this trial for CBD oil.. I've been trying to get Rh right and temps with the tent , getting hight of the light comfortable... It's been a great light so far for my level , when I get better I will be doing a side by side aswell . I'm made my bed and I'm not making excuses for how messy the cunt is lol
