We just put the ripper through the paddocks on a couple of properties we planted rye in but they won’t get tilled for at least 3 years now hopefully. People are starting to catch on to how destructive overfilling soils has been to their farms for relatively small financial gains, humus is any farmers number 1 asset and tilling along with applying Nitrogen fertilisers without adding a carbon source are 2 of the biggest factors in the loss of 90% of humus in our soils
Rye for human consumption or feed ? Ive often wondered why theres no rye grown over here. my mrs is deutsch and goes nuts over rye flour. makes an awesome loaf of home made sourdough rye too

And yeah zero till is the way of the future also planting

My autos are not doing so well .. because i chucked em outdoors with weining sunlight .. only want em for seed still hoping that the balls pop up on the ultimate
The big issue with no till is the reliance on roundup and it’s such a big change for most guys but the conventional way of farming is on the way out it’s just not sustainable and les and less profitable and profit is the driving force behind most guys that have changed over from that system to a more hybrid/biological system

Ended up going with the $600 Jungle room 2.4x2.4x2.3 tent I’m hoping to have my room up and running after the outdoor season finishes so I might only get 2 cycles use from it for growing. Still not 100% sure but I think I’ll go either 12 or 16 5 or 3 gallon fabric pots with coco and blumats to water if not blumats I’ll make a modular flood and drain system but not sure if I’ll have the time
