ATTN SPARKIES Need some electrical advice.

Use the 220v if you can, there will be less load on the wiring which is less problematic. You won't lower your power bill significantly if thats what you're asking.
 
Using the lamps on 240v will cut the power consumption in half. I run everything i can on 240 just be sure you know what you are doing before getiing into your panel.
 
it will NOT cut power consumption at all.
running a ballast on 220 will reduce the amperage, and thats it.
a watt is a watt, regardless of what voltage it uses to be transmitted to the device, and the power company bills you for wattage, not amperage.
you would have to be running about 12000 watts to notice a difference in billing by running 220 vs 110, and even that would be marginal at best; the reason being a ballast operates slightly more efficient at higher voltage. very slightly

Yes i believe your right. I have brick saws that run 110 or 220. We have ran them both ways. the 220 is far better than the 110 when i comes to cutting brick. So i figured maybe it will push the bulbs a little brighter with less strain. I just wish i had done some wiring before building the room.

Also to any body with exp with magnetic ballast does the buzzzzing get louder on 220. Seems to me it should be a bit quieter or maybe it will be the same. iguess we shall see.
