Attic

Okay, i think im bout to start on my 3rd grow, but i wanted2 c if any of you had exp. with the attic deal. Im only going to have 2-4 plants, i have a 400w halide for veg and 3 150w hps's. i just want to know if i need to do sumthin bout all this insulation, tent of some kind? 3rd pic is of my vent. Any help would B appreciated

i in the process of setting up now. my problems stem from a weak electrical system in the house I'm renting. as I ork out the bugs...weak breakers, installing ceiling stars, plywood flooring, vaacuuming all the old spider webs, sealing old cracks and leaks, installing new wiring upstairs, ... I begin to see exactly how big apeice I bit off! Bought a 1000$ sun system 7, just to realize that all the extranious electrical gizmos require power too,... intake and exaust fans, co2 generators and timers and ...sometimes it gets rather exasperating. I haven't even got to growing yet. Thank the Godz I got legal before starting this project...yes I'm still stealth, but it's one less stresor to wake me up in the middle of the nite. No Warrent? No come in!!

There was a thread where a dude was making a HUUUGE grow room in the attic. But I cant find it cuz the search button is gay and prolly watching queer eye for the straight guy on tv instead of doing its job.

haha, well im jus setting all my shit up, idk wat im gonna do for space tho, seems if i step anywhere besides the beams im gonna put a whole in my cieiling! jus wired to have an outlett instead of just a light bulb up there. jus got my 400w hps also!! cant wait to c how this thing does during flowering

This past week I was thinking of putting a grow tent in the attic, stoked I found your thread!

questions:

The attic hole is small so you gotta set the tent up when your up there right? I know the temp in my attic is around 100 degrees! the hotter the more humid it is right... well how the fuck can you bud a plant with out getting mold?

basically all i did was to board out the space u want to work in,then i brought a big roll of clear plastic(cheap)and linned out the whole attic covering up all the fibreglass insulation,then make a flowering room with panda film or mylar,then all i do is veg my plants outside the flower room and bang them in when ready

what is the measurement in height in your attic ? what growing style do you plan on using with your newly baught 400 watt hps ? and which one did you get and from where ? (air cooled) ?

dont a lot of people get caught growing in the attic as when the police helicopter is out and about 60% of there work is thermal imaging and they see the heat

one of the many reasons I would never grow in an attic

the person i bought my grow tent from got cought by helicopter as he was growing in the shed and helicopter see the heat. but the tent was at a freinds so police didnt take it but they took all his equipment and basicly told him be good for 6 months

no worry for cop heli's lol, this aint some shit outta a movie, small grow, again, 3-4 plants. got a hydro farm lamp from a friend. only 30 bucks?hell yea! and attic is around 9ft? guessing, but theres no real way to measure it. And yes, the attic hole is small indeed! put a hole in the wall already jus tryin to get up there haha.
I may try to take parts from my Q9 to set up a diy hydro, not too hard, and i have exp. with hydro. Ill get a better pic so you guys can get a better idea of what im workin with. And temp isnt a prob right now, haha. its bout 26 degrees out now so ima b alrght

Mylar is inferred proof! so you just have to keep it concealed.

The room has to be insulated properly. And have good intake and exhaust. And have some sort of air conditioning for the hot months. An attic can get hot even in november depending where you are located. And you have to think about getting water up there too.
I'm almost finished with my attic room and it has been a hugh undertaking! It has been just like any project, over budget and major schedualing delays. I have many pics, so I'll have to post them here one of these days. My wifes not too keen about me keeping a jornal on this site.

haha. well i dont have any probs with a wife, yet. knock on wood. but i Have decided to go with hydro. im figuring im going to just veg in my room, then flower im the attic due to space/ smell issues. Just got my seeds from some pretty good stuff, germing right now-paper towel method. Im going to veg using 42 watters-cfls, and flower with hps. my nutes are ff grow big, tiger bloom, and beasti bloomz. currently trying to figure out how i want to set up my diy hydro machine. got the water and air pump, baskets, leftover rocks from prev. grow. just wondering what size of container i should be looking for. but i may actually start a journal haha. considering ive only came on here for help so far, ill keep you guys posted
