in colorado there are alot of growers getting robbed. you will to if your not on top of your shit. Don't tell people what your doing. look outside and see if you see cars that don't belong in your neighborhood. check your vents to see if your letting smell out one of there methods of finding your grow is looking for the smell. don't have light leak its a dead give away. don't bring grow equipment thru the front door or in plain sight or leave piles of medium outside or in your trash. The way they come in is with force u don't expect its almost like a raid you will get the shit kicked out of you then zipped tied. more then likely they wont shoot they just want the stash but accidents happen and takes a little bit of pressure to pull a trigger. last grower i know that was robbed was in lakewood they came in 3 mexican 2 black stupid ass gang bangers some tatted up on the face they even went as far all wearing paint suits took all the tv's the crop all pipes everything worth value was gone. If your going to own a gun in the house have that shit in arms length so you can actually use it and shoot these mother fuckers in the face don't be afraid to use a gun its not a show item it has a purpose and its to kill people that try to harm u or break into your house Do not shoot to harm shoot to kill or your probably going to get sued and you dont want to go to court your doing the world a favor by eliminating these people. You need to realize that your second amendment is super important and the cops only show up after its all over and they don't give a shit about the robbery they believe we brought it on ourselves. Its sad cause growing has brought a lot of peace in my life and its almost like therapy but you have to realize people make more robbing grow houses then robbing a bank or a convenient store and thats a fact.

Don't be afraid to use paragraphs. But seriously theres a high volume of robberies everywhere lol. Whether you're growing or not you have to be prepared. A reinforced door so you have enough time to get to the shotty. Window bars and/or thorn bushes outside windows. Criminals will find the weakest link and if theres not one, they'll find someone else

Well there is one flaw with guns! If an intruder waits for you to get home and forces themselves in while you are opening your door! What then? Less you conceal! Usually even then with your back turned it can be tuff! Lucky for me my 6'5 300+lb frame isn't the type of person they want to attempt a robbery with! Buzz kill thread for sure. There are special laws that relate to having both a firearm and weed in the same house and it's all bad. But you gotta defend and there are bad people around. Perhaps there is a good side to having nosey neighbors, any unrecognized car gets a few people checking it out in this area, the local paper had a story about a "suspicious vehicle" cruising nearby "with 2 hispanic gentlemen" inside, "who turned out to both be wanted it was discovered after they were detained for questioning." So racial profiling is OK now as long as there is an unpaid ticket to back it up. Make my day law applies in CO, about the worst place outside of Texas to rob somebody at home. Hard to imagine how somebody would consider robbing for weed when there are banks and jewelry stores all over that have much better stuff than just some stinky plants. I haven't seen this on the news, is it real or an overactive imagination?

Some friends of mine and I were robbed when I was 17. They held a knife to my neck and said if the dealer didn't give up the shit he was gonna cut me. There was a .45 behind the bed I was on. While the guy w the knife was yelling at the other guys to look around for the dope, I reached behind the bed and pulled out the gun. As I brought the gun up to his neck I cocked it and the (just the hammer) sound stopped him in his tracks. The pressure on my neck subsided. He kinda put his hands out in front of him. The room was so quite you could hear a rat piss on cotton. "Get the fuck out", I said. They did. We called the cops. They found the gun and took it (I wiped it down before the cops got there and another person there hid it, shitily). They asked whose it was, everyone said no idea basically. On a side note, the gun may or may not have been operational. I never fired it in person so I had no idea as to its functionality. They told me later it was broken. And the house serviced many walk ups for cronic, acid, x, coke and meth (no I'm not proud that I hung out with that crowd. But I was at a fucked up point in my life). So I think that we are marginally safer than I was back then. But I still find some validity is keeping a low profile. Very few people even know what goes on inside my house. So ya it can happen, but keeping your hobby on the dl and having a plan of attack if something does go down is a good idea. And I'm not sure what the guns and ganja deal is, does the make my day law still apply? Or do you go to jail for having the two together?

Good story Chef, I was around in the 80s when these things were going on and decided to exit stage left and get a real job to avoid winding up like many of that time and lifestyle. I have discussed the firearms and growing arrangement with 3 attorneys, all told me to not test it, that as far as they know it is illegal to have any firearms in you possession at the same time as "drugs". I did see a news story that claimed a guy was cleared during trial after he defended himself with a gun while carrying his medicine. He had a red card but the story did not say if there was anyone shot. The conclusion of the story was that you do have the right to defend yourself in CO. But the verdict is still out as far as the feds and I would not want to go to court over this when it is quite avoidable. There is a long history of farmers shooting thieves in their crops so it is not hard to imagine that the make my day law would probably apply, but again, we are in uncharted legal territory with A64 so the only thing for sure is that you will need a lawyer if you shoot someone or get caught with a gun and weed together. Oh, and you will need to post bail to get out of jail before trial. Best to not be a gangsta, better to pull pants up and grow up like we had to do back in the 80s. Stealth growing is the smart way. I like to play baseball and have several bats, and if some armed thug comes to visit it will not be possible for him to leave without a body bag. (Home field advantage.)

There was a real douchebag dealer around here pushing H for the last 8 yrs or so. He has always been around but just got into the H. Well we live in a pretty small community and this shit became an epidemic. Fucking high schoolers my buddies wife. All kinds of folks bangin that shit round here.

Well a couple of those high school kids kicked his door in with a shotgun tryin to rob him. Word was he had a safe with stacks of cash and product. I know he was hooked up w/the mexican mafia scene. His family was from mexico. I also know he moved a lot so the stacks of cash was probably true.

As much of a piece of shit that he is. He is a pretty tough son of a bitch. These fucking punk kids tried to make him open the safe. He wouldn't so they shot him. Luckily for him it was only squirrel shot though and they must have had bad aim. Fucking guy still wouldn't open the safe so they threatened to shoot his girl. They must have been distracted at some point cuz he managed to get a pistol he had hidden and shot and killed one of the kids. The others took off.

Then he called 911 and the other two kids got arrested later. So this fuck was back in business pushing his junk like nothing ever happened. Fucking crooked ass cops around here taking payoffs.

Karmas a bitch tho. Word is he got wrapped up in some heavy shit across state lines and he won't be back for a while.

I would say that a good portion of the time, the intruder is not willing to actually use the weapon! It's just a facilitator and for the fear factor!
