I gotta ask does anyone here know about using molasses and would it be beneficial with a non organic grow such as Athena+Coco?

If you are using a drip system don’t add anything to Athena. It’s not worth the headache of clogging drippers. If you want to add power si or something like that then just use as a spray

I’m hand watering with only Athena but some people told me molasses can help with the weight. I don’t think so though.

In my experience Athena and jacks are complete lines and I don’t see any reason to add anything. With Athena I’m feeding 2.5ec and pushing around five in my blocks everyday. If they are eating that much I don’t think adding anything more is necessary

Molasses is a form of sugar for microbiology or microbes for short. You can add it in as an organic sugar option just you don't need a lot of it. You want to make sure it's unsulphured molasses too. Molasses is also known to have lots of minerals in it.

nah no need my tap water is actually really good. And chlorine isn’t a big factor like everyone thinks. I haven’t dechlorinated in years it’s kinda really bro science in my opinion. My plants thrive without dechlorination.
Dechlorination is something that got hyped up by YouTube growers to be honest. There isn't enough to kill the plants and also just like weak plants I don't care if weak microbiology gets killed off by it in my root zone. In my opinion the chlorine helps just keep algae down and root pathogens at bay.. Even growing with microbes they reproduce so fast it doesn't even matter.

Going back to mixing batches using fresh salts every feeding instead of using batch solution. The batch solution for me doesn’t come out to the correct EC when mixed. Mines comes out super low and this seems to be a common thing when making stock concentrate. I believe humidity can add water weight to your salts causing your stock mix to come out a lower EC than it should.

I mean yeah I might try and fix the next stock batch by just adding more salt to the final individual stock concentrates after mixing them (if the EC is too low). But since my EC reader doesn’t read that high and there Is no documentation of what each 1Gal stock solution EC should be, there’s no point of reference making that useless.

So I’ll go back to just mixing every salt one at a time and waiting for it to dissolve and check if my EC works better now.

Well the tables I got were around $450 with the tray, table, trellis support and wheels for a 4x8. Not too bad. Also I still use a shop vac on some trays lol

I’ve been getting all my help from their Instagram account in DMs. Sometimes they will take a day or 2 to reply but helped me out a lot as this is my first time with coco and Athena
So what'd you learn from them if you don't mind me asking?

Damn yea they are slow at replying. I use tap water with a Tall boy dechlorinator and sediment system and my EC comes at 0.5 so I just lower my feed by 0.5 and it’s perfect. But yea man I hear good stuff about jacks go for it.
Were you having to ph after or was it mixing to a reasonable ph at 3ec.

To update the thread, I did order Athena Pro Core & Bloom and had a very bad first experience. The Bloom barely dissolves even in warm RO water and their ml/gal dosage for Target EC is totally ficticious and inaccurate. I have discovered that Athena is around 500 PPM weaker than advertised. Also when it spills on the floor from watering it leaves a white salt which is even more annoying.

When I use MaxiBloom dry scoops by the cup it's always consistent and measures as advertised. The only problem I've been having is pH crash in coco mid/late bloom which I'm going to fix by switching back to Promix HPCC as it contains dolomite lime and other things to help maintain a stable pH once you feed where Cocos pH tends to dance around between fertigations.

Even using their 2 lb pre-weighed bags was super inaccurate. Seeing if I can get a refund from my grow store, if not then I'll use it up and continue using maxi.

These plants have gotten Armor Si, CaliMagic and MaxiBloom @ 2.0 EC, 6.0 pH and are loving life. I wanted to give Athena a shot to see if pH didn't crash as much but their formula being so off what they say made me decide to not use their products.
