Weird question,

We were gifted some "orange cream kush" and "chocolate kush" for my wife to try.

They smell artificially sweet and flavourful - not canna-like at all.

After grinding some of the Orange cream I noticed it even looked orange.... I decided that I'd put it aside and likely just toss it out.

Can anyone chime in on this? Does cannabis ever produce food-identical aromas like that? I've smelt generic sweetness and sometimes a bit of berry but never a chocolate bar or an orange creamsicle.
 
They don't all smell like desitin, cat piss or skunk, if that's what you mean.

TRY IT. Only takes one hall to know! :)
 
You might tossing some dank. Ive grown Agent Orange and it smelled totally orange. Same with Super Lemon Haze. Crazy how these breeders do it. Ive had peeps ask me what I spray on my buds to make them sooooo tasty. Of course the answer is nothing.
 
You can get flavoured flushes from Grotek like blueberry, strawberry and etc. Lol years ago I got a bunch of 50gal drums that had Hawaiian Punch juice concentrate in them. I told the guys who bought them make sure you flush them out good, I guess they didn't listen next crop they came to tell me how their stuff smelled like Hawaiian Punch.

Well you won't like this but I've heard it is a practise of some folks to spray the drying bud with Kool-aid or coco water or whatever flavour your trying to impart into the weed.
You guys know what I mean. some liquid with the flavour in it so it dries on the product and you get the flavour then.

A BM guy told me they can add 500 per pound to the price if it's done right....I guess it adds the fruity smell folks want.
On a better note yes there are defiantly strain that smell naturally like fruit or chocolate..coffee and other delicious flavours and smell. So it's not necessarily that it's been sprayed...just could be....
I'm sure LP's would do this in a minute

I agree. Orange Cream Kush is not something I have heard of. Not saying it's not real I guess.. But it sounds made up for real. People do rediculous shit to make their weed seem crazy good sometimes.

Thanks gents!

I was very suspicions of the Orange cream kush... I'm trying to build a good understanding of cannabis genetics - this one stood out as bs. It's orange hue and the consistency of the keif was more "sugary" than I've ever seen. I'd be willing to bet it's been tampered with. I'll pull out a loupe and see what the trics look like tomorrow. For all I know it could be an agent orange cut (or any other high limonene cultivar) rebranded as "kush"

I'm thinking both these little gifts are sprayed with something.

I'm just happy my wife didn't try these before I inspected them. I would not have been happy to find out after the fact.
 
I can't believe I'm reading this stuff....
I get citrus smells and even fruit loops..from one pheno...
to the OP I'm glad they were a gift....at least...
I have a big rubber mallet....to use on any who sprays shit on weed,after my past
experience with drug tainted buds...
there is no excuse for putting anything on buds,period.
 
I would rather throw it out. I had a little bit of mold on some of the last batch and rather than cut it away it all went to the garbage. No point taking the chance it could be something that is really going to fuck you up.

Yes, properly grown and cured cannabis can smell exactly of road kill skunk,searing pork fat, rosemary, mint, chocolate, coffee, red berries,grapes, cheese, oranges, mangoes, limes, crayons, marshmallows, cucumber, carrot etc etc
And I do mean exactly like.
Cannabis produces the exact same chemicals that make the flavor and aroma but in much higher concentrations.

I truly feel bad for those that have never experienced the mouthwatering flavors she has to offer.. Its not just a mild skunky or hazey dankness


Yiu can't spray shit on your plant like that one dudes talking about...it doesn't work that way, would not be smokeable. And just doesn't work...not reading any more posts
 
I'll try to snap pics under the loupe - if it's been sprayed with something we should be able to see it.

I'd really like to believe these were both legit but I'm skeptical. The combination of orange and vanilla is identical to a creamsicle. I've been lucky enough to to come in contact with some really well grown meds as of late and none of the sweet grapefruit and orange zest I've smelt resembles this in the least.

You sure could smoke it after the water evaps off....leaving the flavour behinds....Why is that so hard to visualize ...duh
 
Well for one what yiur suggesting isn't spraying limonene on your plants etc, but an unholy mix of sugars and dyes that when dried will be torture on your lungs. And won't taste like you imagine at all. Terpenes aclohols esters aldehydes etc impart the flavor. Which Yiur mix is completely void of.....

Oh yea....duh

You missed my point...I'm not suggesting it should be done....just saying it IS being done and some folks don't know it. What'd ya think I'm advocating to do this....duh And if you think some lighly sprayed mixture of water and flavours won't evaporate and still smoke.....think again...sugar free Kool-aid dries pretty residue free in small sprayed coating. Even leaves a nice pretty tinge.
I do agree that taste is most likely not changed a whole lot....Bit it's not done for flavour , it's done to fooll the nose.....so you buy it.
So you buy it....like an ugly woman who wears perfume.

An easy way to make sure. Though nobody in their right mind would put this on dank.
If you grind the nug rupturing trichomes will release the stench filling the room. If it was sprayed for whatever reason it will not do this
Coolaid will not have this affect, lol. Not gonna argue...for real, bitching cause I said yiur? I usually always hit that on touch screen devices... We call you a sore loser
