Yeah I hear you Fatty, I'm done with Air pots I was gonna throw mine away too but I have some GH stuff I want to get rid of too so if anyones interested. The reason I didnt like air pots was because if you get a pest like say fungus gnats its going to be super hard to get rid of them because you can hit them and do soil drenches with pesticides but because of all the little holes, the fucking pests can crawl in and out like a hotel and getting rid of them is a never ending battle. I'm using 3 gallon smart pots this go around. I have a lot of half filled GH stuff and air pots if anyone wants for about 20 bucks..

you can't say we didn't give them a try! i checked the root structure of the males i culled and the roots filled the 2 gallon smart pots in about 3 weeks from repotting them from party cups! they were thick with roots! i mean damn!

this is why i'm thinking the 5 gallon might fill up at the end of 60 to 70 days in flower. most people say that root growth slows down or stops after a few weeks in flower but i have yet to see any botany investigation into what actually happens to the roots during the full flower cycle so i'm going to test that! i repotted into the 5 gallon and a few of the 3 gallons at about 11 days in flower. i have a bunch of clones so i should be able to figure out if i'm going to stay with 3 gallon or move up to 5! the 5 gallon would reduce the number of plants that i could fit into the tent so it will all depend on yeild!

we shall see!

by the way, i'm at the other place these days, come visit! they have a nice lively morning thread! :pot:

i just threw out 16 - 1 liter air pots! they were such a pain in the ass to water! the one that was a bit bigger than 3 gallons was a pain too! they might be fine for a few plants but 12 or so is too time consuming and hit and miss unless you immerse them in water or use a drip system or something else that i don't want to get involved with!

i've used every pot size and shape you can imagine from 2 inch square up to 7 gallons! long and deep plastic storage bins, square pots, round pots, tall pots, short pots wide and skinny. i threw out all my hard pots (i had over 100 of various sizes) and switched to grow bags. i'm now a smart pot guy and will be throwing out most of my grow bags except for the 1/2 and 1 gallon size! i don't know how, but i have collected 3 large garbage bags full of used grow bags! i kept buying them thinking i'd throw out the old ones but...

the root structures in the smart pots was remarkable! they were kind of odd looking but dense! oddly enough, i didn't notice much if any difference in the weight of 10 clones! some were done in 2 gallon grow bags and the rest in 2 gallon smart pots. i had them under an MH light the whole flower cycle like a retard!

this is my current grow. these plants were in the party cups for too long so their stalks aren't very thick. i vegged them for 2 weeks in their larger pots and they are about 14 days in flower here.

i currently have plants in 2, 3 and 5 gallon smart pots (and a couple in 2 gallon grow bags because i'm really lazy). if the 5 gallon has a bunch of dense roots at the end of this, i'll convert to them! although i'm 2 weeks into flower i'm probably going to put the rest of those in 2 gallon smart pots into 3 gallon and maybe one more five gallon!

i'm pretty high and running out of steam so here's some pics!

this crop is cinderella 88, skunk #1/afgani #1, stonehenge/an unknown BOG, an unk/bubble gum, sensi star and afgani #1!

the male is a cindereall 88. ima makes some babies! :)

a pic of 2, 3 and 5 gallon pots.

It looks amazing man. Great work all around. I have a question for you, since you are the only person I know who breeds on a regular basis, would you be interested in males? They are so gorgeous I can't kill them just trying to find a home. They are about 2 feet tall...pandoras box and Querkle are the strains. Let me know I have no more room for them. I'll post pictures of them tonight when I'm back in the garden.

Hey all. Finally found some cuttings for my needs.
I have a question for anyone with time.
I got quite a few different strains and wanted to know if anyone had personal knowledge with any of them. Other than the info that pops up in a search please.
Here goes the strains: emerald jack. Trainwreck. Rhino x trainwreck. Mango. La woman. And the other one was from the indian tribe that lives at the bottom of the grand canyon. Supposedly, got them from some 65 year old woman so who knows.
I do know the real trainwreck a bit and know its clone only. I wanted some variety so hopefully it works out swell.
Thanks for your time

thanks bird! i love the hobby and am looking forward to some decent weight this time!

i appreciate the offer but i'm full up too! it's a good feeling to have too much!

it does suck to have to chop them! while they are in veg, i can find the males 9 times out of 10 by looking for the biggest, most beautiful plants of each genetic! just like in nature, the fems are often not as beautiful! that's why chicks need makeup! :)

sounds like you need to appreciate the immature feminine form....I have found the male do tend to grom faster, though. And some of these indica hybrids, it's really hard to tell until...I have one right now, that I just KNEW was a bull...wrong. Tallest/strongest, had course leaves...all the signs

Also in AZ and prop 203 compliant.. I am doing a small 2 plant closet grow with 2 clones planted in FoxFarm soil, a 250w CFL w/ reflector, the last 24 hours it has been at a constant 73-77 degrees, and I have very good ventilation. Here are some pictures and if anyone could please give me any advice on anything I should change or if there is anything I need to know. I'm open for all criticism but I'm a virgin at this so go lightly =P Thanks everyone!

DAME bro your either feeding to much or not feeding them. Im not a soil guy but it also looks like it maybe missing something else, as for nutes, ph. What is your feeding schudule? You need to figure out the issue asap why there drooping, If your vegging I would lift the light a tab just to let them relax a bit all that light is more needed in flower than vegg. Even though they will stiil be thick stems the way it is now, but to some degree you got to think that less is more (Not for light though in flower) I would also put some white panda or wrapping paper around the plant so the light relects back on the plant. Other than that looks good.

Looks like over watering!! Cut you watering cycle in half. If you water 1 time a day start watering every other day!!

Well I just bought the clones yesterday (2/18/12) and the grower said not to give any nuits for at least a month because I just put them in foxfarm soil and he said that they have a good amount of nuitrients already in it. But my dad was over yesterday (also has a card and grew a couple plants a LONG time ago) and he was spraying the leaves with a spray bottle. And did so a couple times. So is it possible that they are just over watered?

And also how often should I water them? and how should I water them? How much water? Mist onto leaves? So many questions in my head lol! Thanks for the quick reply Don!

definitely look over watered. have to let the soil dry out between watering. if you are using straight fox farm soil, it's probably going to be every 3-4 days.

Hell yeah, managing a full time job and growing on the side is not easy, much love to you guys that do this full time because regardless of what the lames say this shit is real work its like an art form.
dude! i'm curious how much weight you got off the 6 or 7 footer you were growing a few months back. i still chuckle when i think of how tall that thing got. :)

by the way, i've discovered dry ice kief making. i'm way too lazy to do the bubble bags but with this method, i'm buying the bags. it looks very cool and i'm going to try it this round.

I love that method. Great for making edibles or refining further with butane. The quality is not that great for smoking though. I usually dry ice sift my trim and then use the sifted trim for butter and the kief for bho.

after watching a few of these, i'm going to initially go for the 73 micron bag and see what i get. i love a little kief as a topping.
