Are Walmart Great Value 2-4 ft, 20-30 Watt LED grow light bars Okay for seedling stage?

Walmart has these budget store brand LED grow lights:

20 Watt:

30 Watt:

Would these be okay for seedling? Maybe Veg?
Did anyone have any experience with these?
Do you think this thing would be able to handle 6 seedlings in solo cups?

The PAR value seems abysmally small for the wattage (10.23 mmols/s). Could it be a mistake?

I have zero experience with that style of light.
With that said, that seems like a bunch of $$$ for what you are getting.
If you are just looking for something to start your seedling under, or maybe root clones, then these would have a lot more bang for your buck.


I have not grown under them, but I have hung them at my work and they put out a fair bit of light.
Three of these in a small area would be bright as hell, and you would be money ahead.
And for just starting out the 4000K color would help keep down stretch.
Just a suggestion.

Just get reg shop lights those" plant lights lol" are pricey...I use regular shop lights , T5 led 6500k for seedlings and to start veg.

You mean like the ones they use in car garages?
Those are halogen, and I read that plant growth sucks with halogens due to their spectre even though they are cheap.

I suggested a 4000K light for overall plant growth.
Lime suggested a 6500K for seedlings and veg.

Listen to @lime73 (he/she has 10 years experience, 8500+ posts, and has helped a lot of new growers)

My friend has those, and he offered me to borrow them. This way I could save some money by not buying germination light.

They'll be just fine for 7-10 days at 10-14".

There are a lot of people growing under 'plurple' led's, but they have sorta fallen out of favor.
Those lights will give you 480 watts of power from the wall, to cover 16 square feet, that's 30 watts per square foot, and would be considered the minimum coverage. For a cost of $556.56. I feel like if you have any DIY capability that you can build a white light LED that will be a better bang for your buck. There are DIY kits available too, you may want to dig a little into that...or not...totally your deal.
Not trying to run down your light selection, just trying to help. I grow under DIY LED's.

To the original question, I believe @quirk covered that one for you.
Just remember to be careful whenever you are transitioning from one light source to another.

My friend has a VIVOSUN Ceramic Metal Halide. I don't remember if it's 300 or 600W (his gf used to grow veggies).
He offered me to borrow it. Would supplementing these 2 hydrocrunch led's with a 300W or 600W CMH do the job? Should I use all of them (2 hydrocrunch + 1 cmh) through both veg and bloom, or will doing it just under 2 hydrocrunches during veg and then adding CMH during bloom be fine?

Will 2 hydrocrunches + 600W cmh be an overkill? (I assume 300W CMH should be fine)
