The second theres doubt or ya need magnification its too eqrly, easily spot male female from a milexaway if its even showing real preflowers and not tiny little misshapen things.

That and one preflower is followed by a ton more, if it is actualky preflowering the rest will be along in a few days so again no reason to chop at this point.

This is always the way, too many of these threads are guessed and im right far too often when everyones saying da opposite. i simpky pass on tge knowledge of how to do it properly not early :-)
For sure mate , I'd err on the side of caution and not make rash decisions :)
Alright guys upon further severe inspection the pistil I though I sae is not a pistil and I can see another pollen sac growing so I am pretty sure this is a male. Also I have a lot more plants and at this point even if I am wrong, its just not worth the stress so he is getting tossed. Thanks to everyone that chimed in, this is a great community on here and hopefuly i can start contributing more and learning a tonne along the way!

Then ya pulled too early and learnt nothing, thems not even look like pollen sacs let alone split to drop pollen.

Far too much bad info on the internet alround, who would trust a respected grower here :-(

What stress? Even if it is a male you have plenty of time before it pollinates any other plants.

Honestly I have had a hermie open pollen sac and ruin a whole crop that I put so much hard work in to that I am probably paranoid at this point. Plus everyone saying it was a male and my gut feeling pushed me over the edge. I initialy thought it was a male anyway untill i thought i saw a pistil. Also no other plant is showing pre flowers yet this is also the tallest plant in the room. Anyway I may still be wrong I dont know but I think i did the right thing here. I feel lile ur mad at me though, dont be mad im sorry lol:smile:

But you literaly told me to toss it because its a male? And i dont know how long it takes for pollen sacs to open as i have never kept males before..

He’s just saying even if a male you had time before they opened up. I’ve tossed a few plants here and there at the same stage unless I’m hunting for the perfect male and female to breed. Your fine plus I like your name. I’m assuming your referring to planet Namik.

I said toss it or save it and make some seeds. I grow plenty of males. Those definitely look like male parts to me. That and you stated it was tall leads me to believe it was a male. I grow almost exclusively regular seeds so I see my share of males. I probably shouldn't have said to toss it though. But it wasn't anything to stress over.

Yeah I am pretty new to growing, but i also like regular seeds. It defo looked like a male to me too but i guess i could of let it go longer, i just dont have much experience with males and pollen sacs opening and probably got a little too paranoid.

Yeah its all good maybe i should of let it go longer but its alright. How long can you leave males before there is some real concern? Or does it have to be in flower? And no sorry to dissapoint but nothing to do with planet namik lol, but thats from dragon ball right?

I should have said to let it go another week. Pretty sure it was a male though. Definitely looked like male preflowers. Plus it was taller than the other plants and showed something sooner. Males do that quite often. But there is still always room for error from sexing too early. So that was bad on my part.

If it was a male you would have plenty of time to remove it before it seeded your plants since they have to be flowering.

Good luck.

Im not mad at you bro but what happens if the next plant shows weird tinys growths and then the next plant and so on till youve killed them all and have no crop left...

This stuff happens reguarly here with new growers.

You came here for advice and i just want to offer you a way to educate yourself on sexing and never have to ask again.

Just let em go till they show real sex and ignore everything else.

A bit of pollen is nothing and ignore hermies, thats a stress not a genetic trait you can avoid, at your stage you need to grow some out like we all did.

Yeah I get it, in hindsight I should have left it to go longer. Im usually pretty good with that stuff i dont go crazy with every little thing that goes wrong, but like i said from past experience with pollen i was way too paranoid but i guess things like that happen along the learning process. And the other hard part is i have no one that i know that grows and can help me out in real life, so everhthing i have learnt is through the internet and trial and error. And now i have started to use this forum for help when needed. In the future i will defo wait and go longer to really be sure of sex.
