When should I transplant these guys? i tried to keep the light as close as I could but it still doesnt seem to be close enough since one kinda fell over. should I do something to keep it upright?

I transplanted into pro-mix one that I germinated a week before the others. its cotyledons are turning yellow. is this normal? should I do something?

Thanks in advance!!

My cotyledons dont turn yellow that early. Id keep a close eye on your true leaves though just in case.

Ill give you one word of advice on using Promix. DO NOT OVERWATER! Im using it currently and it retains so much water that it becomes very easy to get nute deficiency from doing so. Thats even with an extra 30% perlite added to it. And when I say over-water, watering to the point I get maybe 5% runoff. Seedlings just can't soak up all that extra water, but larger plants will be fine.

i agree.. get a straw and cut in length ways so that you can slip it over the stem with no probs.. then try and stick the end of the straw in the soil some, it will help hold up the weak stem.. you can also get a lil fan to blow a breeze on the weak stems.. this will force them to get thicker... or you could pinch them slightly between your fingers, this will bruise them and cause them to get harder too..
the yellow cotyledons are notthing, this happens all of the time...
best of luck with the grow....:joint:

i would use the straw method for now.. you dont wanna leave them falling over like that for too long... that could cause major problems like rot and all.. i have used the straw in the past when i was a complete newbie and was trying to grow some seedlings on a windowsill.. it works pretty good.. just measure the straw for the length of the stem, add maybe an extra quarter inch or so to go into the soil and your good... they look a lil retarded like that, kinda like those cones they put on dogs to stop them from licking themselves, but who cares.... it will do the trick in a bind and get you out of a sticky situation...
they are doing this as i think they are stretching looking for the light... you may have to lower the light a little bit more.. it is a tricky balance act at this point.. too close and they will die from heat and drying out, too far and they will stretch like crazy and be weak.. you have to just play around with the distances till you find a happy medium.
