Are these buds anywhere near harvest? 125w cfl, my 1st grow. 6-9 weeks into flowering

They are looking close...I would give them at least another week, probably 2. Nice job though man!

Maturity of the herb has nothing to do with how many pistils have turned orange, though. It is a must to look at the trichomes under some sort of scope. The only reason I said a week or two, is because from picture 1 (best perspective in my opinion) you can see the trichs on one of the bud leaves are nice and amber, but many other ones are clearish/cloudy. It is really hard, if not impossible, to tell the maturity of a plant without really good trich shots. That's why I invested in a veho 400x microscope....Never have to guess
